Smile 1999 Maxima Speaker Issue

Hello All,
I just bought a 99 Maxima...so far it runs great...however the speakers in the car are not functioning... it seems like the sub (or whatever produces the bass) has blown out... the car has ~91,000 miles on it and I remember reading on this forum that the speakers tend to crap out around 90k...

Question 1: Should I take it to get it fixed or should I invest in new speakers... Im not trying to drive around and have my trunk rattling but I do want a quality listening experience...im fine with the factory CD player...but just dont like having bass... if i do get the factory speakers fixed...what am I looking at spending? should i take it to a regular mechanic or should i take it to the dealership and hope they dont rob me?

Thanks in advance for the answers!

i dont know about that theory of the speakers going out at a certain time, my 98 i30 speakers worked great and it had 128k on it, usually go out cause they been abused or jst broke. just get u some aftermarket speakers millionbuy.com has some low prices or check out ebay. if its back speakers it should be hard to replace the door ones would be since u would have to take the door panel off.if u not gonna do t yourself just take it to someone that now what they are doing so they wont tear it up a audio shop should be able to do it
