I was installing a new Dome Light Bulb when it seems I blew a fuse. The Dome light works when turned on, but when in the setting for it to come on when the door is open it doesnt work. I checked the fuse listed for the dome light and it is not blown. Anyone know whats the deal? Is there another fuse for when the door is open.
No i didnt touch it with metal but the light was in the door open its on position when i had the door open installing the new bulb. When i pushed the bulb in it blinked and I (being the little girl that i secretly am) quickly pulled it back out. Then when i put it back in it doesnt work in the open door on position. Only works in the on position.
Anyone know what it will cost at the dealer? Or how to fix it?

Can I ask what kind of bulb you bought ?
The dome light is drived by the BCM and I don't think they put a fuse in line with it. If there is a short, maybe the transistor driver in the BCM blow caused by bad protection design.
my coworker had a flickering/moody dome light syndrome but went to dealer and they fixed it, it was some wiring or switch or something i forgot but its definately covered, let them fix it with your next oil change or something.
You sure you didnt just leave the door open this whole time, and it wouldn't work because of the battery saver shutdown? There is no fuse for the bulb that is seperate for the door function. Basically the way it works is the bulb is powered by the battery saver output circuit from the Body Control Module (BCM), which supplies 12 V for a set period of time, then shuts off until it sees no load. The switch is actually either open (light off), ground (light on), or it connects it back to the BCM, to the door lamp control terminal, which grounds the light when the doors are open, or if they are unlocked, etc. Basically if it isnt working, the switch is probably bad. Good luck.
Mine is doing the same thing. It worked only briefly in the "On when door is open" position when it had gotten quite cold out. Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. At any rate... my dome light will come on when the switch is manually turned to the "on" position... but it usually doesn't work when it is in the position to come on when a door is opened. Seems silly that this is a problem. I mean... Whirlpool as been having refrigerator and oven lights come on for awhile when their door's are opened. Wonder what is so special about a car? lol.
Any way... I wish I could tell you what the problem is... but since my car is out of warranty... I don't want to spend the money to get a light fixed. I'm hoping someone on here can figure out the problem and post. I'd rather try to fix the problem myself.
