Unhappy Is the starter covered under warranty?

My friend who is a mechanic told me that my starter might be causing the RPM drops when I start the car. I was wondering if I bring it to the dealer would it be replaced under warranty? Or would it be a wear and tear item??

Thanks

Yes the starter is covered under warranty. It is designed to last a real long time. So if it is causing a problem they should replace it. It is unlikely though, if it were interfering with your motor you would most likely hear some friction or grinding. Good luck.

Tell them to do the Tsb for replacing the starter/reprogram of the ecu & add fuel system treatment for free. 2.5L only. You have the right to do it. Its a cold start bulletin. Hope that helps.

I dont understand ?? Do they drop to the point where the car shuts off ??

My starter was replaced under warranty because it actually failed and broke and had to be towed in to the dealership.

^^ Not that bad..YET. When I start it up, it starts up fine, but right after the big roar, the rpms drop to about 350/400 RPMS, and it starts to shake. Then it jumps back up to the normal idle at 700 RPMs.
