I stumbled on this --> Page which offers Rear veiw mirror mounts for the Escort/Bel and V1 Units. (Tired of the windshield rattle and suction cup marks.)
I am considering getting this for my car but I don’t know what our diameter is.
Anybody happen to know or maybe even have your Altima close enough at hand to figure it out? (of course… the one day I let my girl drive my car )
This is the reply i got from the website help desk:

Hi Clayton
The 2006 350z just changed their mirror size, so probably the 2006 Altima did also. I would ask the dealer, if not measure around the mirror with a string, and let me know what measurement you get.......or you can divide that number by pi, and that will give you either 3/4 inch or .9 inch, if unsure, just give me the circumference that you come up with. thanksssss Joy
Volcano God made a really good--> tutorial on this.
Took me all of 10 minutes.
Thanks for firing that tutorial to me... Consider this done.
Now one thing with that mirror mount.... Would it not be too high up? Would the tinting higher up on the windshield affect the ability of your radar detector?
Actually, if you look at how mine is currently mounted you will see that it is a little higher than it would be if mounted under the mirror.
I think directly under the mirror would be the best place to have it.
I even have the high performance metallic tint and extra tint across the top of my windshield for an extra sun visor and it does not interfere with my detector at all, I get about a 2 mile warning normally.
I think this will really help with the aiming of the rear detector, mine is just low enough to be in a strait line of sight from the rear but I still worry about my RV Mirror blocking it.
Nice mount, but I too finally hardwired mine and it sits way up out of a thiefs view. That mount will still keep the radar in plain view of a thief. Many windows are broken just for a radar detector.
