How hard is it to steal a 02-06 altima...

How hard is it to steal this generation altima? I only ask because someone tried to steal my freind's jeep from right in front of his house last night. He didnt even wake up. They tried to hot wire but could not get the thing going. Anyone know how safe our cars really are? Anyone ever had someone try to steal their altima?

why would anyone try to steal their own car? uhhhhhhhhh no comment lol

this thread sounds shady..but to answer your question, the imobilizer that's installed in our cars makes them pretty hard to steal. so i wouldn't worry

^^I agree your flatbad comments, but I've seen flatbeds scrape up a car pretty bad while winching it up the ramp.

I recall a couple of members getting their altima's stolen; nothing is theft-proof!

mine almost got stolen, i came outside and they got in their car and floored it. They broke the window with a spark plug after trying to open it with a slim jim. What the idiots didnt know is that on new cars its very hard to open it with that. So they cracked the window, unlocked the door from the inside which triggered the alarm, and thats when i came outside.

^ It's actually not hard at all to use a slim jim on a 3rd gen... done it before when I locked myself out.

I had an incident where someone was peeking into my car and had put their hands on the window, which caused the prox sensor to trip. I ran outside half naked, and saw the guy (teenager or so) running as fast as he could.
