They weigh almost 35 lbs. Shipping is $35, it's not too bad. Please email us if you have questions. We are sending another batch of Maxima braces to the powder coater first of next week, it would be pretty easy to throw in Altima braces as well.
On another note, if someone here had the time to work with us on a group buy we are interested.

I don't have the time to organize a group buy, but I'd be in on one if there was one set up.

organize a group buy

BTTT We will cut who ever organizes a group buy a sweet deal on their set of braces. Must be for at least 10 sets. I will talk to the boys this weekend and post up our price for 10 in a group buy. Who ever organizes will get theirs for 50% of decided price.

Hmm...might be interested in the group buy. What kind of discounts are we looking at for the GB? Maybe I can finally make some use of my welding skills.

Too bad these are illegal for auto crossing...I'll have to check the SCCA rule books again. If its clear, then I'm all in.

We will be running a group buy on Maxima.org I am not sure if we will run the 6th Gen Maxima along with the 4th and 5th Gens or not. Probably a seperate one for the Altima and 6th Gen cars since the bracing is almost the same.
I am meeting with Mike and Sean this Sunday to talk it over. I would guess the rates will be similar to last group buy $300-310, that will include shipping to lower 48 states.
Who has their Rebate Check?????

Duaner - I sold my wife on these by showing her the IIHS side impact crash video (consumerreports.com) of the 3rd gen. Altimas. You can see how far the floor caves in and I think the bracing will go a long way in preventing intrusion of the b-pillar into the passenger cabin. If I remember correctly, Truax was going to run some safety tests, but I don't know how far they got.

lol...I was joking...well, mostly. But you do raise a good point. I'll have to check out the video. The thing is, there were two initial reasons for modding my car--performance and mileage. I had read guys on here claiming increases in mpg with intake and exhaust mods, as well as SFX's project Altima which they claim gets 29.4 combined mpg. That's what sold the wife.

Now that I'm talking suspension stuff she somewhat jokingly regrets letting me get started on modding. I was planning on the Nismo sway set and Racingline FSTB. But if these chassis braces give the car a nicer ride and may make it safer, perhaps I'll forget the Nismo sways, get the FSTB, a rear sway, and these braces. It's just that shipping to Canada isn't cheap and then I have to pay duty so it ends up being quite costly.

But if these are going to be hard to get later on, it might be worth it to get them now.

question. do the braces sit and lower than the chassis of the car, and if so by how much? I got sportlines lowering springs on my car and its already low as it is right now. but i wanna do this!

braces

NismoAltSE-R, the braces do not interfere with clearance. The lowest part of your car will remain the lowest part. Look carefully at the photos on the link posted from Maxima.org, they are actually of an Altima. Group buy has been posted by TUKO316. See his thread.
