Well the collision place gives me a lifetime warranty, as well as I made it clear if it's not done right I'll be back.
He said he's got only one guy he wants working on it.
Only thing I'm worried about is my D3 being put back together right with all the parts I purchased, otherwise I'll be fighting insurance to pay for another install.

Also glad to hear that they are going to fix it, and that they will warranty the work.

Despite all the hell I get from my wife about playing with my car, the single MOST MODIFIED part of the car is the passenger side, rear window interior. It changes all the time depending upon what my stepdaughter has decided to smudge on there...

not sure what the value is on it, guess its a lot considering they are going to fix it for about 10 thousand instead of telling me it's totaled.
looks better in person, pictures over exaggerate

I had a car salvaged once. It never drove straight ever again. Unfortunately and yet fortunately, an underage driver totaled it for me after.

You'll have a much harder time selling it later. And an even crappier trade in value. People won't trust it even though it may be fixed as good as new. It's significantly devalued.

If your offered the option of totaling it. That's what I would do. Get your D3 out of it first while it still belongs to you.

But do your homework first and decide what's best for you.

yeah I wasn't given the choice, they kinda just went ahead with the fix, it's easier than having to find a car with the money they'd give me. Plus they already sent the OK to the collision place.

I am considering filing that Diminished Value deal so that I can make back the money I will loose when selling if I ever do down the road. But for now that money will give me something to buy the new alarm and tinted windows I was looking into doing.

Not sure how they would go about salvaging it, I haven't heard anything about changing the title, or anything of that sort. Probably should call insurance and check on all of that.

Be sure and try to get reimbursed for the loss of value of your car. When mine got rear ended last year, I tried to get 3000 for loss of value. I cant remember the technical term for the loss of value and every state may not offer it. Anyway....I ended up getting 1500 instead. State Farm actually had my car appraised after it was repaired and I was awarded 1500 based on that appraisal. I cant remember all the details...sorry...I just wanted to let you know you may be eligable for a similar payout. BTW...I have an 05 SE and even after the repair it appraised for like 19,200. That was last June. My car was a little over 2 yrs old then.

I don't think there is a loss of value in California..

If there is I've never claimed it..

People just keep paying me cash and I get to keep my insurance down.. (I have quit a colorful history)

Was able to check on the car today, took some pictures. Doesn't look too bad on anywhere but the area of impact which is a relief. Take a look. Once again thank you for the help.
