I don't get it, is something wrong with my car? How are people getting 27-30 city mpg? Given even if you drive like a granny (which probably isn't the most effective way to get good MPG anyway), I still don't think I could personally get my city mpg over 23-24. Is it time for a tune-up?

They aren't (at least not with the 3.5) and there is nothing wrong with your car.

When they say drive like a graney... it DOES HELP. I can get 30 mpg in the city. You have to accelerate and don't let your car get over 1800RPM. It should take you around 1 minute to get to 40MPH. That is how you know you are getting excellent gas mileage.
You sig says you have a 3.5. I doubt that you are driving it the way we describe especially with a v6 and that is why you can't manage to get it.
Nothing against you that is... just fact of driving.

Madsen, I think I might just add this to my sig. The part about taking a minute to get to 40MPH is probably the funniest thing I've heard in a while. Props to you

Strictly speaking, my highway mileage is up in the 34's add my city in that and a retarded hill I go up and down daliy. I come out to getting 30-31mpg... this is not from the cars computer, its pump math.
521 miles on the tank, 17.2 gallons. do the math if you like.
I drive alot of highway 70/30%

I have a 2002 V6 and I do alot of city driving (boston), I say 65% city and 35% highway. Having said that, I only get 18 MPG city and 33 MPG Highway (Doing the speed limit of 55). This readings are from the car's computer.
I just filled up my tank last night (3.95/gallon of premium). The way things are going, Im going to resort to leaving my car home and start taking bus/train.

If you do actual measurements instaed of going off the inaccurate computer you will be surprised at just how inaccurate the computer is.
