S-AFC II help!

I would post this in another section, but I thought it'd get more attention here.

I just recieved my Apexi' S-AFC II from OfourVsix (Miguel) and there were no manuals or diagrams included so I had to do some research. I ended up taking out the glovebox and part of the dash to expose the ECM. Struggled a little bit with the black and white clips but got that off and I bought some easy wire splicers from RadioShack to connect it but I wanted to document and clarify a few things before continuing with

I found that the Apexi' N8-C is the correct diagram for my 04 4AT 3.5.

I have a few questions:

Does anyone know which wires on the S-AFC II correspond to the pins shown on the diagram? Basically what is the color codes for the S-AFC II wiring?

Here is the diagram for reference.

Thanks guys!

SAFC-II Wire Color-ECU Pin #-Function

White wire -- MAF Signal Input from MAF

Yellow wire -- MAF Signal Output to ECU

Grey wire -#73- Throttle

Purple wire -#71- Knock Sensor

Green wire -#34- RPM Signal

Red wire -#110- Power

Black wire -- 2nd Ground

Brown wire -- 1st Ground

Ground is Pin #48 and Airflow signal is Pin #61 but there is two wires for each. Am I supposed to connect both of these to the same pin? Thanks!

I have not done mine yet but this was the only info I have for mine

See where it says

"cut wire to ECU, connect yellow. Connect white to the other end"

"connect brown wire closest to ECU, Connect Black 1cm away from brown wire."

Thanks alot, that diagram by Jime explains all of this.

To clarify for anyone reading the thread the Brown wire is closest to the ECU and the Black wire is 1cm away on the ground wire.

For white and yellow wires it says to cut wire to ECU and connect it to yellow and white connects to other side.

Sweet! Let me know how it goes...

Is there a way to simply install it but not allow the device to make any changes... Its not Installed and I have not even turned the unit on... but I want to make sure when I do turn it on it doesn't try and map my fuel right away.

Also did you do this with the Negative to the battery off?

Just attempted to start with the Power Wire first. I disconnected the negative battery terminal.

I first orientated myself and counted pins so I could tell which way to look at it.
I used the quick splice clips, then connected it to the power and turned on the car thinking it would power on the SAFC II but it didn't do anything at all, lol.

I found some information from shyestparks back in the day.
turn the car on but dont start, then input the following: sens. type-hot wire, sens. # 26, 1 in and 1 out, # of cylinders- self explanatory, throttle- ascending; then turn the ignition off( this will save all your input in the memory); then restart the car again, go to settings, choose knock setting, set #1 by revving the engine 1500 (between 1300-1600 if you want) until stable then press the middle button to the right; go to #2 rev engine to 3500(between 3300-4000) until stable then press buton to the right; when finished go to monitor mode and check if there's an x by the knock sensor value; if there is none you are done with the initial set up, if there's an x repeat the knock setting again(that means you didn't do it right); of course all the fuel values have to be on default(zero) until you bring it to a shop to have it tuned, or you have a preset map( not recommended).
PS: it is N8-C ( if you have a manual tranny, you'll need to open your wiring harness and stick a wire in pin out # 34(tach signal).

Just read this and sounds like you already have your answers...

Good luck with the tuning. Do you have a wideband controller?

Oh, I forgot to plug in the ground wires, haha. No, I don't have the wideband controller.

I am going to take it to a shop and have them dyno tune it. Do any of your SAFC-II owners know how to change between the default map and map 1 and map 2? I am asking because Miguel has two maps from his car saved on the piece but I want it to run the stock maps. Thanks!

I know how to change them but not off the top of my head... lol

But you definitely want to reset those maps before you even drive the car. I think APEXi has the manual in PDF format on their website...

Is this the same for the same for the 05-06 Altima?

It is not the same for 05-06. Velicos made a diagram for the 05-06, look around for it.
