Installing two different sets of springs means that the spring rates will be different between the front and rear, therefore, having an adverse effect on handling
But they are different...

all i have to say is that springs and coilovers are designed in sets of 4 for a reason. you should always be mindful of emergency situations bcuz u honestly just never know. i feel you on the even-ness issue tho. thought about the nismo drop? that one looks pretty even and its only .5 inches in the rear.
this forum needs to make new members watch an instructional video before their first post.

I've had 3 different sets of springs installed on the Alti:
ProKit
H&R
Sportlines
The wheel-well gap was never exactly even all the way around with all 3 sets. The rear always had less gap, which I hate. I would say the ProKit is the closest to having an even gap all around, although it doesn't lower the front enough IMO.
Now that I think about it, with all the money I spent trying different springs, I should have just bought coilovers.
haha ok lets get "outragious" here haha. Lets say you wanna drop the front more than the back but.......OH NO!!!! they dont make springs that do this!! AHHHHH!!!! hahaha.
So here is what happens.....either way you spend money! haha 1....you buy coilovers like oh so many peopel said......OOOOORRRRRR 2...You buy air bags and chose your drop by switch! they are tested and proved to actually IMPROVE handling while giving you a custom drop....they are only about $800 for the bags and equirpment. IDK about install...sorry. But thats what i think should be done........if you wanna do it right. (and a little ricer...hahaha)

So you're saying having the bags and all the equipment in my car will actually make my car handle better?
An air suspension is going to be much more expensive overall than $800. Sure coilovers are about $1200+ but the install is something a shade tree mechanic can undertake. A decent install of bags takes more than a free weekend, its a project.
haha ik its a project......but i do know that the equipment is $800 bucks haha. i have looked. and yes. idk how...but it does make a vehicle handle better....brobably not considerably but i know that it does....i'm just sayin..that if you want a front drop without screwin anythin up....bags haha
Hello to all. New guy posting here, but I have been learning from this forum from some fairly intelligent guys, both young and old, for many years now. While there may be no right or wrong answers to a number of the subjective questions and queries on this forum, the "lowering” topic keeps coming up again and again. The "search" feature is where I found some of my most of useful information. I too, wondered the same thing when I purchased our 2005 Altima 2.5SL in May of 2004. The wheel gap in the front is purposeful to the mass market but is unsightly to enthusiasts. One of the better threads I read was this one....and there are many on this topic.
One of the individuals that sticks out in my mind as to someone who really knows Altima suspensions is Mahout. His recommendations (and many others) on tire size, wheel size, offset, etc are all valid in my opionion. Recommendations on other topics also provide valuable, useful info as well. I bought the tire size 235/45R18 that was most recommended. I bought the wheel width and offset 7.5-8" @ +40 to 45 was most recommended. I had no problems with fitment or rubbing, etc. I lowered my car, front only, with a 1-1.2" drop that was recommended. My car is a daily driver lowered on Tein H-Tech springs, stock everything else. My point being, SEARCH - READ - LEARN... use what works for you. If it doesn't feel right don't do it. There are no magic answers. Cheers.

I just did a drop with Tein S Tech front and rear. I think It looks killer and the handling is very good but the front is still a bit higher. This does not bother me since I kind of like the pissed-off squatted look. Here is a couple of pics of the front and rear.

I chose not to lower mine for one reason. Ground & curb clearance. I confirmed my choice after I ran over a 5" high metallic object on the highway at 80mph with no where to go after it popped out from under the truck in front of me. Luck for me it only scraped the frame! If I was lowered it would have destroyed my front end.
