what was the deal with the 4 reverse lights? are they available, or was that just a test run? I never heard anything about it, other than the one pic in this thread...

That is my car, and it requires the purchase of aftermarket tail light housings with clear lenses where the turn signals are. It is a neat mod and looks wicked at night, but it is pricey in the long run.
Originally OEM Nissan housings, but those have been replaced with a set I bought off of Ebay(cracked old lenses due to rocks). The bulbs are a 6k-blue HID kit from V-LEDS.
Both should still be good. It was talked about in this thread back when the license plate frame came in about a month ago. It was good then....

Damnit!!!! Well this will be the third rear turn signal change in a month. LMAO. Sometimes having access to and testing new products can be a pain. Anyways, the new 1157 dual color bulb is in at V-LEDS, and I have 2 pairs of them to install into the Alti. These are a 92 LED design, with standard diodes on the white constant on(parking) circuit, and a newer designed diode on the amber. The new design uses three diodes instead of one...aka '3-chip design' and while they are not great for constant 'on' applications(too much heat), they are awesome for turn signals.
how did you wire up the two led strips in the front and back windows? i'm about to buy them and wondering if I need anything extra or not.
Actually, it is 3 seperate strips. I used 2 for the windshield since I have the little plastic piece attached for the auto dimming mirror. The wires for them go up both A-pillars. Another wire goes from the driver's side A-pillar above the headliner to the rear window strip.
The LED setup in my car is rather elaborate. It taps the dome circuit, goes through a relay, manual on switch, and then into a fuse panel that splits into 3 seperate circuits(windows, footwells, underbody). From the fuses, there are seperate switches for each circuit to turn them on/off independently.
For what you are trying to do, I would recommend a relay that is activated by the door/circuit, and then run wires to the strips. Really the same basic premise as doing footwell lighting.
Would you be willing to give a little info on how you modified your 3156s to be 3157s, and how you got the clear lense for the rear turn signals? I want to do what you did, except on SE-R tail lights if its possible.
