Would you be willing to give a little info on how you modified your 3156s to be 3157s, and how you got the clear lense for the rear turn signals? I want to do what you did, except on SE-R tail lights if its possible.
i'm not sure about the bulb harness but i believe he said the tails were aftermarket.

Look closely at the 2 sockets on your tails, they are very similar. Some minor modding to a 3157 will allow it to fit where the 3156 is for the turn signal. I happened to get a new set of tail light harnesses with the new tails, so I cut the socket out of them and wired it into the existing harness.
The tail lights themselves are an aftermarket set made by DEPO. They made a couple different versions with the clear lens in the top, although they are getting harder to find.
I am probably going to shot by my sponsor for this...but IMO, now that I have the license plate frame(LPF) with the LEDs in it, I would not buy the high powered reverse light bulbs. Reason for this is that the LPF is brighter than the bulbs, and is much less directional than the lights in the stock tail light housings. The bulbs put out a combined total of app 10w, while the LPF puts out 18w...And the LPF is the same price as the bulbs.
How did you run the wires for the license plate frame?
I'll be installing one on my wife's 02 in the next few days. (Actually, I am in a little trouble since I have had the LPF for app 3 weeks...) I will shoot photos of the install.
From looking at the picture it looks like they're more like "warm" white, rather than "cool" white (slight tint of blue ~ 5k or 6k). Is it (or will it be) available in cool white, the same color as the 921 LED backup lights?

The LEDs in the frame are more towards a 5k color or 'warm'. This was done to increase the amount of usable light output to see by.
I can ask them about the color, but I am pretty sure that they will be sticking to this one for awhile.
That reminds me, I think I linked the 6k bulbs in that other post, and meant to link the 5k...edit time.
A Bit off topic from the current conversation, but just wanted to note I ordered some 194 Amber's high power leds for my side reflectors from V-Leds and was extremely pleased with the quickness of shipping, price, and quality of the product. Thanks to the bt2580 discount I saved a bit too.
One of the many things that I have been looking to do to my car is the addition of rear map lights. I thought these would be great if they could be mounted in the C-pillars with a swivel type head. I have the ear of V-LEDS on this one, and they are considering looking at making something. These could have the potential for many uses overall; maps, underhood, trunk, canopies for trucks...
Post up any thoughts on this.
They are also looking at creating a strip that will be made specifically for doing an Audi DRL style mod...
The DRL would be nice. Would they make that for the 4th gen also?
It would be for any vehicle, and up to the individual to figure out the installation. The idea is to get the spacing correct with the right type of LEDs. It would also bend differently than the current offerings.
We have also talked about then MAKING a strip specifically for the 3rd brake light application. This would be contoured to the shape/slope of the glass with the adhesive on the front. I know you would be interested in this one.
There are a couple of posts on the Gen4 board using different bulbs than the ones recommended below. These are the ones that I personally installed into an 07 sedan. Just like the lists for the 02-06 Altimas, all of these refer to white bulbs for the interior. If you are after another color, V-LEDS probably has them.
**Note: V-LEDS recently started stocking 2 different colors of white bulbs for many applications. They are now offering 6k and 5k. 6k is a slightly blue color and a 'cool' white, while 5k is more a 'warm' white.

I like both ideas... It'd make trying to find the right kind of lights to use if it was just there and already done for us now...if only i could get money...
