So, bt2580 made me "the first footwell led kit" upon my request. This kit is basically plug and play. Everything is wired, trimmed, connected, so on and so forth. It is manually operated with a switch. The kit uses two 6" white led strips. The kit came with instructions and it was very easy to follow. The only problem I came across was that I didn't have a 1/2" drill bit to drill the hole on the blank cover switch. Eventually, I used a smaller drill bit to make the desired 1/2" hole. Just in case if you're wondering what I'm talking about, you need to drill a 1/2" hole on the blank cover switch so that the actual switch can be held in place.
bt2580 is building a few kits that will come on with the dome/keyfob/door and this is the kit he is offering for sale. If you are interested you can PM him.
Nice. I wonder how he's going to implement the one that comes on with the dome light. Tapping the BCM wires isn't exactly something I would trust a whole lot of people to do without messing it up.

The dome light kit is for me. Bt2580 is in the process right now and i hope to have this kit in within two weeks or so. I do believe the dome light one is tapped into a fuse that the dome light works its way thru but im not sure. I am also getting mine in white and am gonna love it!

It is basically centered on the panel underneath and the wire routes through where the OBDII connector is.

I am researching the 05-06 models, but from what I can see, Nissan used the same wiring color code for the dome circuit from 02-06. Simple ScotchLock's will be used there for tapping.

Gotchaa and if your wondering why im not taking the dash off, its because im not putting that switch there. Im gonna hide it up under the dash and run it almost full time with the domes lol.
Clearing things up bt: it will have a constant off, constant on, and dome light function on the switch correct?! lol Sorry haha

There's just one problem with the plastic scotch taps. The BCM wires are tiny. You risk snapping the wire or making bad contact if you use those, unless of course there was some other size of that that I was completely unaware of.
My audi DRLs are hooked up to the dome lights and I am actually using the scotchlocks.....I am going to eventually solder them because a quick nudge would make the relay flicker like mad. Just a heads up.
The best place I found to mount another switch is the fuse door. Although I am using a flush-mount switch for that.
Well ScotchLoks come small enough to tap into 22AWG wire. They are EXTREMELY hard to find tho. But i have some lying around. And it makes a remarkable connection. And m_tuner: even I dont know how much my kit is lmao

Did you use the standard blue Scotchlocks? 3m does make them in a couple of different sizes. I would be using the ones that are made for 22-16g wire.

I may put it on the bottom. And the last time I used VLED's strips i had to find the 22awg taps and it took forever lol. Its good that you found the right ones Bill. I know they are not easy to come by lol

I chose the fuse door for one reason. If I ever want to "undo" the mod, the fuse door is cheaper to replace than the entire lower dash panel. That and it's reasonably within reach.

Yes, they are available in a smaller size. I have either seen them in red or black.
That is exactly why I would choose the fuse cover myself. It is a fairly inexpensive piece to replace if selling the car or getting rid of the mod down the road.
