First ditch all of your mods that add any weight. Change rims to lightweight forged rims. Do the BSR and UD pully. Buy and fab up a FULLY adjustable suspension with coilovers. Learn to drive. Race seats and lighten the entire car. Beef up the brakes with a BBK and change all the lines to SS. And if you have an auto get the trans-go shift kit. Oh and sticky tires and a paint marker. So thats roughly $6 to $8 grand.....have fun

+1 and contact your local SCAA. They have beginner classes so you can get to know your car before setting foot onto the autox track.
Thought $6K would be a deterrant.....i guess i was wrong.
Altima09: Do you realize that if you had someone work on your car 24 hours a day for three days they would still not be done with all the shit that the car needs to have?
I was gonna autox but then i realized that 1) im slow. 2) im broke and 3) It looks better sitting in the grass with a plackard that flaunts my mods to a crowd....
L31 yes that's what I was looking for where I live there used to be a track 1/4 mile it was about 5 min away or less bull shit they took it off now its only a truck stop I say.
I wanna do a track car so I got this plus I still got 10 on this car by then ill see what next maybe plus im looking into motorcycle!!!ftw and want my altima track plus I can get a civic or integra for 1000 under and make that fast no point..tickets1Track car!
^^Do you have ADHD? re-read what you just posted: "1/4 mile track, truckstop, track car, 10 left on it, motorcycle, track altima, civic, integra, tickets, track car" wtf man? thats like 10 different subjects!
If you have 10k left to pay on this car, when do you plan to have the money to drop 6-8k into it? And you're looking into a motorcycle now? PLEASE stop wasting everyone's time on isht like this and only post something if you are actually serious about something and it might happen this decade. This being said, we shouldnt be hearing from you in a long time if ever again.
And man if you still have 10k left on this car, and you are on putting 6-8k more into it to track it, you are wasting your money. You have an underpowered front wheel drive family sedan, hardly the ideal track car. (No offense to anyone who tracks their car. I'm all about dare to be different. I just dont think this guy realizes what he is talking about getting into)
1) when you autocross, you NEED to stop caring about how your car looks because shit will happen. you WILL get cone scuffs, you WILL get scrapes and chips, and you WILL get nasty tape residue on your windshield from the inspection sticker.
2) you NEED to stop caring about the car's appearance, otherwise you are going to be too afraid to hit the cones and you will be running too wide and/or too slow
3) The only thing that I would do, as far as exterior goes, is get a car bra to protect your paint from getting messed up when you hit cones. (yes, i said when. it WILL happen. I hit cones, and people far more experienced than me hit cones)
Lastly, no one cares about what your car looks like at autocross, especially since it's a grocery getter. People only care about how fast you go. If you really want to turn heads, then start getting better times than cars that have a clear advantage over yours. In the end, this is a measure of driving skill, not how expensive your toys are.
