i kno that...i was jus wondering if it was very bad with RL springs....as of now i dont scrape shit but i think my front suspension bottoms out pretty frequently on my way home from work....im replacin the shocks too though...come on springtime..lol
hattrick3518 you are slammed and you're on stechs. You car is way lower than mine. you have like a finger gap in the front. Did you cut a coil of or something.
^^If you are going off his sig pic, I think it may be chopped
But to answer Genocide's question, it depends on where you live. I am on pro-kits too like nismos14 and I also scrape my exhaust pretty easily if I'm not careful (but it is 3in).

Muah ha ha.. I know your secrets... but your car is low as hell. I wouldnt want to be hitting the subframe that hard, if I hit the subframe like that, my exhaust would be toast.
Just remember... subframes are $500+ tax. $400 if you have someone on the dealership side I know because apparently my car was too low for the previous owners.

yeah, i have no plans on replacing it ever. i don't think i could hit it hard enough, enough times to need a replacement. there is still some of the black coating visible on it...
it was scraped when i got my car, so maybe the owner before me had it lowered at some point?
how can you tell when you need a new one? other than it rusting out or similar..
That pic was after it was removed. I went to get an alignment and the shop told me that my frame was "a little bent" and the control arm was bent and needed to be replaced as well b/c the caster could not be brought to spec. So I went to my friends and put it on his lift and it turned out the subframe was more than "a little bent" but the lower control arm was completely fine.
That pic is of the passenger rear corner of the subframe thats normally near the oil pan. (not sure how the oil pan was missed, it looks to be the original). I figured it would be better just to get a new subframe rather than try to have it pulled out and compromise strength, etc. The only bad thing was I couldnt find a used one b/c Nissan had about 6 different subframes for the 3rd gens and I needed one specifically from a 2002.

i scraped really bad going to the liquor store today, i guess thats what i get for having 2 buddies in the car. sounded like it was only the resonator, but who knows lol
the first time i busted my flex pipe, i went to the muffler shop to get a new one, and while it was on the lift, i looked at a section of my piping.. and the top half of the pipe was not round, but flat, because of me bottoming out so much and the pipe hitting against the bottom of my car. it was kinda funny at the time..
^^Which section section are you talking about? I doubt that was from you bottoming out. I cant see our exhausts moving up and hitting the underbody or subframe that hard, they are pretty stable. The stock exhaust is made like that (flat at the top) for clearance in two separate sections.

my exhaust isnt stock, its custom made from y pipe all the way to the mufflers. so yes, the pipe was round in the beginning, and bottoming out made it flat on top. the section was right by the flex pipe.
