just found out that in 2 hours I will be dressing up like justin effing bieber and lip syncing to one of his songs at a damn pep rally in front of the entire school.....fml
Since every Nissan service dept I called can't answer I will just bug you guys.
some know im swapping for a lower mile vq among other things. Found an 05 motor with low miles. I want. Does anyone know where the egr is located on the 05 motor? Intake mani? Im putting on the sfr mani but just wanted to make sure I can take the egr stuff off of the 05 and throw the motor in my 02 without any cel issues. My phone isn't liking pdfs right now or i would check that link.
Man I'm on my phone right now too...I have a pic on Photobucket of the EGR tube coming off the upper plenum...it's connected on the other (lower) end to the EGR valve. Sit tight I'm going to try to find it...
Edit: here's the tube connected to the intake manifold...Looking from the drivers side towards the passenger side:
If you need to find the valve itself, follow the tube from the intake mani downwards. Hope this helps, let me know...
Sent from my HTC EVO, bizneeaatch...

THANKS RIZAMAN!
Where does that tube go from the intake? Anywhere I need to worry about? I just want to make sure it doesnt connect to anywhere on the block. If it is just intake manifold to exhaust or whatever then thats all good. I guess my friend can look it up on all data when I get to the shop.
No prob man...All my FSM pdfs are at work otherwise I'd get you jpegs of the diagrams. That tube goes to the EGR valve itself. I'll see if I can get some pics this afternoon... in anycase ill get you the exploded views from the FSM by Monday.
Hey guys, so i was trying to instal my cai a few days ago but i was having issues trying to get my bumler off. In the end i settled with just nstalling the short air ram, but i plan on installng the complete intake tomorrow. Do you guys have any tips on removing the bumber. Should i jack up my car or what. Is the any other way to remove that piece from the stock air filter that is next to the bumper and wheel well. Just need some help and i cant find any videos. Please let me know. Thanks.
Hey guys, im looking to buy some eyelids for my headlights... obviously.. lol ive seen some that only cover practically where the hood meets fender.. i was wondering if there are any that cover the complete top of the headlight, not just up to the point where the hood stops.
Hello!! Newbie here. I will be buying a 3rd gen Altima within the next couple of weeks. I know (just by doing some very basic research) that there have been some recalls issued involving potential engine damage. I had planned to call Nissan with the VIN to see if all the recalls had been taken care of before I purchase the vehicle. I also know I need to ask the seller if the car burns oil (and hope the seller is honest). My budget will probably only afford me an 02-04. But my question is, should I avoid buying a 2002? The only reason I ask that is because it's the first "new Altima". Would I be better off buying an 03 or do you all think it would make much difference? Also, do you think I'd be better off buying a 3.5 over a 2.5? Are the 3.5s more reliable and less likely to have the engine troubles that the 2.5s obviously have? I have seen much more talk online about the recalls on the 2.5s vs 3.5s. Any info you can give me would be great. I want to make the most informed decision possible!! Thanks!!
THANKS RIZAMAN!

Hey cookaroo,
I tried to get some pics of it but it's buried under a ton of other engine shit - almost impossible to get a clear shot of the EGR valve (hot motor and all )
Here's the exploded view from the FSM (#3 in the diagram is the tube I pointed out in my pic, previously):

Google "Altima eyelids".

The 3.5 is the way to go. The car might consume oil if the car hasn't had any major tune ups.
If I were to look into a 2.5, I'd make sure all recalls were taken care of since most early Alti's have high mileage, especially if it's been a while since they've taken care of the recalls which gives you a good perspective that the car is running how it should. But owning a 2.5, I wouldn't get another unless it were a Sentra...
#4 is the EGR valve assembly. If you have a 2005-06 ECU you WILL trigger a CEL. I know 1st hand. The hardest part about the complete delete is removing the rear tube coming from the back of the EGR valve to the rear exhaust manifold. It is nearly impossible to remove let alone get to without removing a good deal of components. Yes it can be done, but IF the engine is already out and or about to go in the car, please, do yourself a BIG favor and remove it BEFORE installing the engine in the car. Cooko, lol, if I were closer i'd help you out with this. Once you do it, you can almost repeat the process without issues.

Thanks alot man, and i was able to install the complete cold air system without taking the bumper off. I only had to unclip and unscrew the wheel well on the drivers side the take out that plastic box from the old air filter and i wa able to fit in the other parts with no problem. Only think is it took probably 20 minutes to unsrew the 1 screw holding that black box. the rst was installed as usual. heres some pics.

Thank you! You pretty much confirmed what I was thinking and thats exactly what I needed to know! Can't wait to find my 3.5!! She's waiting for me, somewhere. LOL
