Ok i got yet another one..

What would make a fuel gauge give you an incorrect reading up to a quarter tank? every day it tells me i have anywhere from a quarter to an eighth less gas then i actually do.

Hey sorry i have another one too, front of SzczDavi. As you can see from the pictures i attached in a previous reply i installed a new CAI. after the install however, i noticed that my service engine soon light is on. will that turn off on it own after running with the CAI in it for a while or will i have to get some computer reset or something?

There is a link in my signature about how to check your engine codes. Grab a piece of paper and a pen (or pencil) and pull the code. Are you sure you put the Mass Air Flow (MAF) in the correct way?

Hey guys, Just looking for some input and well help obviously. Im looking to do more and more upgrades to my altima. I can feel it running faster and more smoothly with the things i have done to it so far, and its honeslty oly been like 3 things lol. What Im looking for is basically a list of what upgrades, performance, suspension, aero will really help my car not only run quicker and perform better but also keep it clean. Things like a new header is already on my mind and exhaust system and stuff like that but i really dont know what sort of parts would work best with the 2006 2.5L S model. Any tips or comments will really help. (P.S. - The hate on superchargers or turbos for the 2.5 is insane on this site hahaha)

Well, I guess I'm going to add a little to the hate. The 2.5 is made for fuel efficiency. Everything you do will gain some fuel economy but as far as power goes...you have a heavy car. If you want power go TURBO right away. But that means you will have to build the engine and fab up everything for a nice turbo.

Other than that...an exhaust is for sound (mostly) and a header (for me) was about the failing pre-cat (but does free up HP and weight). The CAI is nice for top end pull (but I get better MPG's as well).

Suspension: I would say do coil overs. I am on springs and I wish I could adjust my ride height. I have thought about airbags but the performance isn't like it would be on coils. If you want to do things on a budget, then get some good springs and new shocks/struts (KYB Gr2's). Make sure you do enough research on your springs to know what drop you will get and how the ride will be.

For the 2.5's, most of our cars are form over function. Yes they go and stop but they arent going to beat a lancer or a genesis....

Ya see i dont think ill want something like a turbo or anything like that put in, too much money to spend on a car that already hs 120k kilometres on it. i would have if i bought like a completely new altima but not something i wanna invest in for an 06.

Ya i think headers and a new exhaust will be my next step.. do you think i will or should buy a new catalytic converter while im going with a new header and exhaust?

Great ya i think coilovers will work best for me. the city i live in the weather is a pain to deal with expecially in winter so i would ove to be able to lift and drop at my own convenience. Is there a certain brand you recommend? i was think Tein.

Would things like an intercooler be necessary or is that only really for turbos and that sort of stuff. i was looking at things that would keep my engine running cooler to hlp performance but not sue as to what it necessarily would need to do that or if there are very many things to help with that.

Intercoolers are for turbos lol.

I don't think you will need a new cat.

as to coils, D2 makes good ones, Tien makes good ones, and Ksport makes okay ones lol

Just keep your spark plugs unburnt and keep you air filter clean. Oh, and your fuel system clean and you should have great mileage

my fuel system is total crap. not suprisingly i get like 17mpg.

and i read up on the fuel gauge and what 4DZ said about the possible problem. if it was the fuel sending unit or fuel pump float, would it still misread by 1/4, even if the tank is completely full of gas?
