Altima key transponder Chip

Hi All,

First post here. Looking to buy an uncut key off ebay for my 2005 Altima. Looks like they come with two different types of transponder chips, 4D-60 OR ID46.

Anyone know what one I would need for my 2005 Altima 2.5 S? OR any way to check what chip I need or currently have in my key?

Thanks!! Much appreciated!

D.

I recently got a, key blank and got it programmed from home depot for 69 $ totally worth it and hassle free. Was out with the new functional key in less than.15 mins. Worth the cost. Getting it programmed is a bigger pain than buying it cheaper from Ebay

You mean Home Depot has a program to program this transponder chips? I got key and remote from Ebay but I got a key cut by dealer but need to program transponder chips in order for a key to start the car. I never got program it through dealer but now that you said Home Depot can do it, I might get it done through them because very close to my home.

Home depot has a machine where they read the code from your original key and duplicate that to the new key that is cut.

I am not sure if they program an outside key(like the one you bought off ebay),since their primary business is not programming but selling the transponder keys.

They replicate the keys and the transponder codes. Wouldn't hurt to ask them if they will indeed copy another key.

The person operating the machine just pressed the read button with the original key. inserted the new key into the slot and then pressed the write button.

this is the machine they used EZ-Clone: Hillman Group

This is the key he cut and reprogrammed for me. Item # 86745, BG N102-H EK3 TI Cloneable TransponderKeys? (Complete) on The Hillman Group

I bought a key off eBay too for my Altima that looks like the VW/Audi flip design and it's like a cheap plastic and doesn't even open completely when you hit the button but anyway, Nissan wanted like 40$ to cut the key and 50 to program it and you have to bring both sets of keys with you too, and you have to make an appointment too. Needless to say I've never used it. Don't buy this item if you see it on eBay, it's crap and overpriced.

Glad I saw this. I was eyeing that. Looks just like the VW key. The factory VW key has weight to it and feels like a quality piece.

This the same one? URL: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...d=290622557424

Altima key transponder Chip

Hey guys I bought my key at the dealer for $20 and they programmed it for $40. the eBay keys run the risk of losing the program randomly buy a genuine nissan key. i bought the vw key had to file it a bit because they seem to not cut as far as the regular key sometimes it won't turn or its hard to until you file it. But it works fineAltima key transponder Chip-imageuploadedbyautoguide1358958141.505715.jpg

Altima key transponder Chip

Yup I have two for mine. I am keeping one regular as a back up for those just in case moments. I have had a problem with the cutting on my vw lookalikes. I have had to manipulate them with my file set they don't turn in the ignition after having them cut by the dealer for free. But after some filing and comparing it to the original key I got them to turn smooth and I've had no issues been two years now.
