2002 3.5SE - Straight pipe size?

I have a 2002 3.5SE Altima and plan to put these mods on it
Racingline Y Pipe
Short Ram Intake (for sound)
Resonator Delete, replace with straight pipe to the mufflers
Swap stock mufflers for Apexi N1 style (fake/ripoff but good reviewed) mufflers.

Any idea what size straight pipe to use? I can't find any numbers looking through the forum. Also, if I get a good quality pipe, meaning one that won't rust in 2 years, how much would it cost at a muffler to shop to weld on? I'd pay more for stainless if I could. I've also been looking at catback systems and seeing if I could buy just the intermediate pipe but they aren't sold alone.

Appears he's keeping stock piping. Resonator delete should be 2", but could range in size depending on Nissan's thoughts at the time. Crawl under there and measure.

I'll be honest, I got distracted and didn't read the whole post. My bad. Stock is 2.25 IIRC

I'm running RL y-pipe to 3" cat-back to 2.5" duals on my '08 Altima SE 6MT. Definitely brings it alive.

Good call on that even thought won't work for this situation ;-)

Honestly, it'd be better just to redo the whole thing if you're going to be hacking a bunch of it up. Do it once and do it right. The 3" had proven numbers on these cars.

Any downside to using 3 inch straight pipe into dual 2.5 mufflers? If its larger than OEM diameter is it needed?

Downside? Not that I've heard of. It's not needed, but it it's a setup that's been proven to increase power, if that's what you're going for.
