Spare tire cover?

Just curious to see if this was just me, or pretty much all Alty's...
Is the board in your trunk that covers the spare tire too small?
I find mine somewhat caved in all the time on either the left or the right and always at the back by the rear bumper.
if I carry anything in the trunk at all, it sinks in as soon as weight is put on it.
Im thinking about doing a little support work in the spare tire well... but wanted to see if anyone else is having this problem.
Thanks
Greg

Yeah and it drives me nuts. That thing is all over the place. I added a strip of weatherstrip around the perimeter that didn't help either.

if i get around to messing with mine in a few weeks, i will post pics of my fixes.
am thinking about a few things:
1. adding some small supports inside the back edge of the spare tire well (riveted on and painted to match with some touch up paint)
2. take out the board and cut a new sheet of heavier masonite to go in there, hinged on the floor at the bottom of the seat back, reverse hinged in the middle so that it will accordian fold against the seat back out of the way (yes, that will require some alteration of the carpet in the trunk, so that its part of the board and the left and right portions would be tacked somehow to the floor of the trunk on each side of the spare)
3. adding a couple of clear, external marker lamps onto the inside of the trunk lid, so that when open the lights (on the trunk lid) would be shining down into the trunk)
just some thoughts off the top of my head....

i have lots of thoughts, but hardly any time to mess with actually getting them done.

Same problem here, and the spare tire cover is way down on my list.

i carry my golf clubs in the trunk almost all the time, therefore i see it a lot and for some reason its just one of the things that bugs me about my car. oh well.
if thats the only major fault of my alty, then i can deal with it, since i have dealt with worse in other cars that i have had in the past...

I haven't used my trunk at all except for the trip to AZ. If I was loading up golf clubs every week it would move to the top of my list!!
