check engine, TCS off, and SLIP light on

My check engine light, TCS off, and SLIP lights are on.

My car barely starts. When it does, it idles low/rough, around 500rpm. When I give it gas, it kinda sounds like its going to stall. Very hesitant. I had the car since May 02 and have 23,000 miles on it.

It is pretty much undrivable.

Cant wait to see what the dealer says is wrong with it tomorow.

Also, I didn't know Nissan doesn't give loaner cars. What kind of $&!# is that. And they say they only give rentals for 2 days, and only if you have the extended warranty. Im glad I have the extended warranty. ARGH!

Its probably an 02 Sensor, or ECM, or someother electronic junk.
Anyone else with this problem?

Got to be something simple....They should be able to diagnose that in a short amount of time....Problem will be getting the parts...if they do not have them....make them get them from an 03 on the lot!

They got error code P1102. It was the MAF sensor.

I had to wait 1.5 hours though, cause they were busy. Now I have to wait till Fri or Monday for them to get the part.

I wonder if the Frankencar intake had something to do with this, or are the MAF sensors known to go bad.

Oh well, now Im out of a car till then.

Thats a good idea, rip one out of an 03. I don't think they woulda went for that.

3rd time for same trouble

This is the third time mine is going in for the same trouble (Engine, slip, tcs lights - won't run). Twice the car has left me stuck. This time it died in the garage. I have less than 12k miles.

I'm going to prepare a letter and send to Nissan asking them for a new vehicle or my money back. One more time and it will meet all requirements for the lemon law. I think due to the safety issue's it might meet them now.

cheers,
Shannon

Yea I know its crazy, Im always on the road at work and put these insane miles on my car. I have 24,700 now. I need to get a second car for work. I've been saying that for months now, but I need to actually do it because that mileage is scaring me. I dont want to pay 450/month for a car with 100k miles on it in another 1-2 years.

Same thing that happened on mine at 1800 miles and it was the MAF Sensor. Some batches of MAF were defective according to the Nissan Tech but who knows. So far after it was replaced, mine is still working great.

Now the 4th time

It happened again. Same thing. Rough Idle, stalls, doesn't go over 20mph, TCS Light, Slip Light, etc...
The last time I called Nissan NA was after the third time. I wanted a refund or a replacement. The arbitrator said they can't do anything because the car was now running. BS. Well, it's broke again, so we'll be calling them today. I guess I might have to get a lawyer. Why don't they just do the right thing? Hell, Walmart takes items back they don't even sale. Nissan can't even do the right thing for their new products.

Awe crap, I think I blew my MAF again. I am too hard on my bitch and I maybe beat her too much. I just can't help listening to her growl and feeling her power. But she did me in today after a few drinks at the slapper. I rode her and she stalled out with the same symptoms previous.
Got to put the factory intake back on and get a new MAF. Or see if I can maybe clean/vacuum this one. Cheap ass overpriced nissan sensors. I will not get rid of my intake. I might have to buy a spare MAF to keep in my trunk, if they are going to blow this much. Bastaads

Has anyone considered using a MAF from another vehicle? I don't know if it's possible, but I've heard of ppl using MAFs from performance cars (Mustangs, Cameros, etc). Wouldn't this help the system get over the "shock" of an after-market intake?
