Rear Ended Monday...

Well I left last saturday to go on my honeymoon, we went to NYC (Awesome BTW) and were there for over a week, so I couldn't wait to drive the car again. Well we were supposed to be back around 7 on sunday, but many planes earlier were delayed due to fog, so ours was as well, causing us to be laid over and had to be put up in another hotel on Christmas night. Anyways, I get back monday morning around 9, well my parents dropped me and the wife and the luggage off at our house, we needed some wrapping paper for some presents so we left right away, not even home 5 minutes, we get about 1/2 mile and had to slow down for a tow truck crossing the street to help someone, we start going again and right when I start going again, BAM. A 16 y.o. girl in a F250 slammed into me. Messed up the rear bumper, trunk lid, spoiler, both taillights, bent the exhaust some, dented the rear 1/4's some and knocked some paint off, rear bumper supports, the rear metal behind the taillgihts and where the truck shuts is all bent.

So pretty much all in all, many things happened that could have "prevented" the wreck such as delay in flights, tow truck, etc. Enough talking here are the pictures.

They gave me an estimate of $3000, only $1200 were parts though, they forgot the Spoiler and I think he has the taillights and rear bumber as regualr altima ones, the adjuster said he has never heard of an SE-R. The taillights listed as $118 ea. and rear bumper was $200. I think they may try to use aftermarket parts, so I need to call and make sure they use OEM. The place I am taking was very nice though, and said he'd make sure to order oem, etc. and charge them.

Oops, my bad. Forgot I made a new folder and forgot to make it viewable to public. Pics should work now.

The F250 was so high is why it didn't do as much, I am Shocked the damage isn't as much. Car is built damn good. The holes are from the tow hooks, you can even see the license plate frame indention between. The truck needs a new bumper, grill, lower valance with tow hooks, and was leaking tranny fluid and radiator fluid.

I figured it'd be worse also after it happened. She hit doing about 30 mph. The whiplash sucked. The car is less than a month old also.

It's a b*tch, but at least you're not at fault. So consider it free body work...

I'm not trying ot make light of the situation, but it doesn't appear too bad - 3k for repair isn't bad either. I hope you get it back to normal soon.

Def. not too bad. Just isn't a fun situation. My back and chest are killing me from it, went to the dr. got some meds, rental car situation (I have to pay $5/day out of my pocket b/c they wanted to give me a focus, kia, etc. but I wanted something comparable, I got a Maxima). Plus got to do w/o the car to get fixed and they can't get to it until 1/9/06 b/c they are so busy, but a great shop so I am waiting.

It could have been worse, I am just glad she had insurance and just hope its not too bad underneath when they pull everything off.

Its at the shop right now probably getting it back next week hopefully, but damn seein yours made me glad it wasn't that bad. Did you go nuts when you got out of the car? i would've shiet if that much damage happened to me, surprisngly i didn't go crazy when that happened only when i got home i got mad lol.
