Has anyone had difficulty getting their hands on reasonably priced all-seasons that fit the SE-R (225/45-18) ?!

This has been very frustrating for me up here in Canada. I was just about to place an order for the Kumho Ecsta ASX (KU21) tires but was told they would take at least 3 months to ship (I guess they must be new). I heard the Falcons were a good deal but couldn't get them in either. They did have the Kumhos in 225/40-18 but I don't want a wider tire. Now it looks like I'll have to dig a little deeper to get something like the Pirelli PZero Neros.

Here's the 4 I would choose from. I lived in Rochester NY for a while and had the ContiExtremes on my old altima. GREAT in the snow...

Goodyear - Eagle F1 All Season
Pirelli - PZero Nero M&S

Get them from Tirerack and have a local shop mount and balance. It will save you $$$...

I wonder if any of those tires perform exceptionally well in the summer? I live in one of the very few places in Canada where it rarely snows; I never drive in the snow (lots and lots of rain in the winter, hot dry summers). I want something that is a good summer tire and an excellent rain tire. I've read other posts on here and the P Zeroes seem to be good at this.

^^^ I just replaced my original S-03s with some Kumho Ecsta SPT in the same size. I only had 42,000km on the car (and some of that was with winter tires on). The Bridgestones had TERRIBLE treadwear, and although I'm leasing the car, I was at 2/32 treaddepth, so for my own safety and when (if) I return the car in one year, I had to do it. The Kumho is MUCH MUCH quieter, but it does feel like the sidewall is softer, so it doesn't feel as confident in the corners....however, the Altima is BIG, so I never did feel 100% confident in the turns anyway. Other than that, I'm really pleased with the tires. I saw them on tirerack for under $100 USD, but after the raping that UPS gives you to import them into Canada, I decided to get them from a local dealer. I got them installed for $880 CAD total (including taxes). That was by FAR the cheapest.....I live in Ontario, and without dedicated snows, I might as well walk in the winter.

ppl have trouble getting traction ........what is the best tire for those with the 6spd se-r? or do you guys all spin too ? (my bad if im jackin ur thread)

If you are looking for some good traction go with some drag radials, I think that almost every SE-R owner have the same problem with normal(no drag) tires, too much torque on our cars.

Funny, i was getting my oil changed at the dealership and just for the fun of it i asked them for a quote on a set of stock SE-R S-03. I laughed in there face, they wanted over $1200 pluse almost another $100 to mount. They are crazy!

I have the Nitto NeoGens (225-45-17) on my Maxima. I love them. They have great grip, summer and in the rain. I will prob put them on my SE-R when it comes time.

BFG G-Force T/A KDW's here... I live in Atlanta, so we get plenty of rain and stupid hot summers... Honestly I cant complain. These ride, sound, and grip better that the S-03's. best price I could find was like 270 a tire w/install and lifetime road hazard. I wouldn't recomend any thing else. have close to 20,000mi on 'em now. (about 32,100km) not bad considering the number of burn outs.

BTW... They have a kick ass tread pattern too.

I got de T1R about $150 each. Was dificult because everyone is selling ACME tires brands. With high treadware( it means terrible treadware for me). Everyone says that the Potenza s*cks. I didn't like the noise from the potenzas but they have a lot of grip. The Toyo T1R is the best that we could find for the price here in PR. Also is a great great tire.

Remember the tire is the only thing that touch the road from your car. My recomendation for the ones that are thinking change tires. Don't put you safety on ACME tires.
