Ok...my baby has been repaired. The install wasn't too bad. I had a difficult time disconnecting the harness due to the tight space, but I managed get it off after a couple of attempts. The only other issue I had was getting the new switch in. I couldn't see the hole so I had to get it in by feel alone (insert bad sex joke here). Oh...& I completely forgot about oil pouring out upon removing the old switch, so I made a pretty big mess. The clean up took longer than removing the old switch & installing the new one. Thanks again for all of the excellent info guys.

Glad to hear you were able to swap it out no problem! Yea, I did mine with an oil change, that way there was no oil left to come pouring out (well not a LOT anyway, lol).
Just as an update with my car, since I've swapped my switch, my oil pressure :: knock on wood :: has been doing great! At idle after warmed up, it's been sitting just ABOVE the 0 line! That's a first since I've owned this car! So far (it's been a few hundred miles) it hasn't gone down to or below 0 and the oil pressure light hasn't come on! Hopefully this fixed my issue, and the same for you.
Thank you so much for this thread. My 2005 SE-R just hit 78,000 miles and has the exact same problem described here. I'm not good with cars so I'll probably order the part online and have my mechanic install it.
I would like to give thanks to everyone who contribute to this thread. This issue happen to me last Tuesday while I was on my way home from work. I was freaked out when the oil psi jumped over 120 to 0. I was due for an oil change so, i changed my oil and oil filter. (My car has 163,xxx miles) Still had issue with the psi. Before, I took my car to a shop, I google the issue and led me to here. I order the new OEM oil pressure sensor from Courtesy Nissan for 80 including shipping on Thursday and came in on Monday. My local Nissan dealership was charging $120 for the same part. When I looked for the switch, it was above the oil pan drainer, and the space was very small and tight (That what she said ). On Tuesday, My dad took the car to a local Car-X Auto Services and they charge us $40 to replace the part. After the install, the oil pressure gauge is back to normal.
how do u guys disconnect the switch im having ahard time disconnecting it
that wasn't too hard on mine, I just lifted the little plastic piece on the top that clips the plug onto the sensor and gave it a little tug, came right off. Look at your new plug to see how it holds itself together. Also, if there's water in yours it might take a little extra force to pull apart.
Epic fail on my part: I was attempting
to change the Oil pressure switch one night. Had bought a 24mm deep socket for the job and so I take the tire off and fender well panels and look up and start grabbin at the first thing I see. Well the 24mm socket being way small should have been the first clue. So after like an hour of wrenching and twisting I break it loose - SPLASH holy hell red fluid everywhere. I'm like wtf that's PS fluid. Yep. After breaking off the connector for it in the midst, I screwed the damn thing back in, put the wheel on and parked it in the driveway. So friggen pissed. 😤😡
Replace the solenoid valve in the transmission. Fixed all of my issues and did not need to remove the tranny. Did a drain and filter replace. Part was $350.00 but all in all, Strong and smooth as an OX now!!!
I think it was 79.00 or 89.00. Cant remember. the 25.00 sensor was for one or the other not both. I did not think I did not think I would get off that lucky.
