My friends are some of the excited ones. Those other people can suck it when us Pennsyltuckians come there to blow money all weekend long.

damn i see all the questions have been answered already lol. Im glad you went with the C2's like i suggested, i wish i had gone with them also.

As far as your question, i had low oil pressure issues thats why i had mine apart the first time, if you dont, then no you dont need to do anything.

Tip for the valve springs and retainers, if you have a compression leak down tester, and some compressed air it makes things a hell of alot easier when doing the valve springs. Just hook up the tester and compressed air(hopefully you have an air compressor) and run it into the cylinder you are replacing the springs on. This way there is force on the valves so they dont drop into the engine when you pull off the springs lol.

Rev-up oil pump is a good choice, id get rod bolts also but they really arent needed if you dont plan to run nitrous or anything in the future. No need for head studs and main studs. Yes you can do the rod bolts from underneath, just have to remove the windage tray. Oil pump sits behind the crank like lawrence said, upper and lower oil pans need to come off. The Rear Timing cover DOES NOT need to come off to pull both lower and upper oil pans, some people may say they do, and FSM might, but it isnt needed. Replace all the seals on the front timing cover, the two seals between the upper and lower oil pans. the rest iirc is just rtv. I have some pics can dig up if you need me to. Remember the engine IS interference fit, so dont screw something up! lol.

mounts or other upgrades

Are you replacing engine or tranny mounts or any tranny work(auto or manual?)? I'm about to get cams (c8 hopefully) also but there is many questions i have not had time to answer? Like what breaks afterwards? 4drz? good luck again and note the things that are a PITA, for my hands sake.

tl: thanks man. should be fun. If you make it out here for the opening race definitely hit me up! PS. Give me your rims haha. I should've jumped on the deal over on the ORG but I wanted to put the money towards the cams instead.

Yay!! Aaron finally showed up!! haha. Yes, your suggestion DID help me lean more towards the C2's. Also like I said earlier, I wanted something different than what others were running. Lawrence wanted me to get S2's

As of right now I don't have any oil pressure lol. I have a new sensor but when I changed my oil last I didn't have a socket big enough to fit it. I was mostly concerned with what you did to fix YOUR problem but I found the thread again earlier. I am going to pull the lower oil pan to see if there is pieces of that gasket in there like you saw. Hope it's all good though.

RevUp oil pump was ordered today and I went to the dealer and bought every one of the -/+15 gaskets that have to do with the timing chain cover, upper oil pan, and valve covers (second pic). Rod bolts and Spark Plugs will be ordered tomorrow.

Whatever pictures you want to post would be great.

I am nervous but at the same time excited about doing this. I feel if we take our time everything should go smooth. I honestly feel better about doing this myself than dropping it off at a mechanic. This way I know all the new gaskets will be used, I can closely look at everything and make sure it is somewhat normal, and I can clean parts of the engine that aren't normally accessible.

That will be next. I want to buy all new mounts, send them to Red Lion and have him press them for me. I will probably start with the front and rear. Tuko only has these two (I think) and is very happy with them. I may try the tranny after that. From what I read the passenger mount creates way too much vibration. I will try it anyway since all cars act different but it will definitely be the last one. No plans on tranny work yet. Just a lighted flywheel eventually. I really need to get my exhaust setup figured out. The Racingline HFPC's and Y-Pipe do me just fine for now but I would like to get SFR Headers with a custom 3" to dual 2.5" or dual 3".

sfr

let me know if your getting headers bc i want them too from there, but not for that much! maybe a package deal could be in the works later on, but the sfr Intake manifold is looking real pretty too though. hope you have a 6speed like me also bc I THINK they are different (rear ones). can't wait man, this will def. help me out decision speaking.

I hear ya! but I am willing to bite the bullet since no one else makes them. I want to do it fairly soon after the cams because I know I will definitely need a tune. Good thing UpRev is right around the corner from me (like 15 min away). The SFR intake will be my next option if I decide not try the SSIM or the 350z UIM mod. I DO have a 6sp and yes, the auto rear one is different that's why Aaron (05SickSer) had to go with Cattman. I was going to buy Cattman but after 4-5 emails of no response I moved on.

Uhm, most on here are overly concerned about driveability...hell if i had my way we would all be driving around with C8's or C9's, BUT very, VERY few will ever open up the biggest bottle neck within this motor, THE HEADS! lol without mild to WILD head work, C8's and larger would just be a waste of money. You would never get the full potential. Next time I will remember you are baller status and not a cheap ass so that when I say get this or get that, there wont be any sas. Lmao....

Id suggest not doing the 350z IM because its ALOT of work to make it work with the hood, the SFR manifold is proven to gain alot of hp up top, with cams you can expect a little more gain.

If anything, i know ill be selling my custom manifold sometime in the future, because i know it isnt going to hold 15lbs of boost lol. Probably will get the SFr mani, but will run my SSIM at first
