Oh. I have one from when I originally planned to remove it. Thanks though Everything on your car running smooth?

Did a test fit on the front header and it fits perfect. A little close to the motor mount bolt but nothing a little dremel action can't fix

Bought a 10mm Hex Socket to remove the head and the damn socket snapped in half. It's Craftsman so I can replace it but what good will it do if I can't break the bolts loose!? May have to try a standard allen key. I was able to safely pull out the water pump but the rear timing cover still won't break loose!
Yeah my rear one was a pita to get off also. There's probably a bolt or 2 somewhere where you dont see them. But it should just pop off if they are all out. may take some help from a rubber mallet/screw driver/ prybar.

The head bolts arent really that tight. Get another 10mm and use it. And use a big breaker bar and you will be fine

Man, I've checked a dozen times and swear I have all the bolts out. The top has broke loose but the bottom is solid. For the heads I'll go through as many Craftsman sockets as I need to. Lifetime warranty baby!! haha

Trying to get the heads off. Snapped too many Craftsman tools so I ordered some Snap On tools. Once they get in I'll hit it again.

On the left we have a Craftsman 10mm Hex Socket that I snapped two of already trying to get the head bolts off. On the right we have a Snap On 10mm Hex Socket. This thing is a beast!! 4x the price, 100x the quality. New breaker bar should be here in a couple days.

I was able to break loose all the head bolts. I will never buy Craftsman again lol. Snapped some pics. Can you guys look at these to see I you see anything I should be concerned about. Looks like I may have some light coolant leaks.

So a few questions before I start putting this thing back together.

-What can I use to clean up the carbon build up on the pistons, heads and valves?
-Looks like rust in the block but I assume that's just from the car sitting. Should I rub some oil around to keep everything lubricated?
-I'm looking to get ARP L19 Head Bolts and HKS Head Gaskets. Is that stuff worth getting now or should it be something to get when I replace the pistons??
-Is it worth getting valves if I'm not getting the +1mm or the heads PnP'd?

It's tempting to do a lot of internal mods because the engine is just about completely apart. Since thy are big money mods it will only prolong me getting the car running again. Thanks guys.

Wow... You are almost done man! I bet you that's surface rust from sitting so log without the manifold on. Cleaning it.. Ill let Aaron answer that. I would do the new valves and pistons rods if you got the money and CAN do it yourself. You plan on turbo anyway this wayyou you'd be set bottom end. If I had the heads off thought would definitely port them, definitely. And the valves +1. That's just me. But .. I bet your itchin to try those cams out.

Just did my front axles 2 hours with my buddy I did one side he did other so cake with a real impact on the hub.
Good luck man and dd you figure outif the heads are messed up?

You're right. I just don't really want to drop $1500+ on valves lol. Besides, I have no idea where to take them to get done. Don't think there is anyone here in town. Maybe Cobb. Boost Logic will blow me off bc it's not a gtr. Those guys are dicks anyway. The only dude that was cool left.

Yea. I bought it of some chick locally for $100 I think. Had her throw in a nismo pillow that she was selling too lol. Good job on the axles. Did that noise go away?

Noise gone, it was the passenger axle but I did both bc I could.

I would just call the dealership and ask them where they send their head and block jobs, if not call the tire/repair shops, same question. Worked for me.
