Yet another thread I have missed out on. Subscribed for progress.

So glad F1 is coming to Tx. I'm going to have to make the drive down.

Double valve springs are good for high revving not single springs whether they are ferrea or not.

Think of it like this....a purchaser selects 2 Image Dynamics ID12V3 subs with a power rating of 1500wrms, and a 3000wrms Alpine amp to power them, all while running 12ga speaker wire, and then he installs the subs in a free air configuration...... wonder whats wrong with this picture.
The purchaser got screwed bc he should've bought a 4000wrms amp so it's not over working itself. It's better to over power a speaker than under power it. Yes, the speakers are worthless in free air. Then again, even the perfect, made to spec speaker box still won't let the speakers be used to their full potential if the ohms don't match up.. All in all I get your point

Soo should I send the JWT springs back and get something else? What about nismo?

About building the engine around the cams. In your opinion, were C2's a smart choice?

You should really get on a dyno (your long over due). This way you can see if your even making poeer that high.

You need to do a lot more research. Itd be bice to rev to 8k but a high rev oil pump and some springs arent all you need.

the HR's are double shim, single spring but they run those things to 8k all day lol. Steeds' keep the jwt springs, you will be fine with them for what you want. Im talking about my build since ill have a built bottom end as well

What you have is fine. You dont want a spring that is to stiff either and is within spec to the Cam. Its easy to just buy cams with springs together (jwt) so people over look things like this.

The c2's are good. Me personally, I wouldve done all other bolt ons and then get the cams. c2's are more aggressive then s1's and 2's. Anything else would need a build.

I appreciate all of you chiming in. I have always lightly modded cars. I originally intended to only lightly mod this one... I will admit to being one of the name brand assholes that wants a pretty piece of paper showing all my pretty mods. I almost traded my car in for a 350z because parts were easier to find not knowing parts for this car are right in front of your face with a little research. I really love this car and I will never be able to get rid of it. I feel we can do some pretty amazing things with these instead of a cold air intake and some LED's.. Or like UpRev said when I went over there to see how much a tune was "Well, that's all you can really do to that car" referring to my CAI, HFPC, and YPipe.... It's just making me more determined. Que Rocky theme song

Now, 4DRZ, I completely understand that you need parts that compliment each other. How exactly do you know what goes together without buying everything and doing numerous combinations? Or is that what has to be done? e.g. what ad/disadvantages does a 3" to dual 2.5" exhaust have over a 3" to dual 3"? Is it all just experimentation??

Ok cool. My original plan was to do a turbo set up. I think now I really want a solid, powerful N/A setup. So porting, polishing, pistons, rods, etc.. Is what I want to do eventually.

Do 3" to dual 2.25 or dual 2.5", not to dual 3". It will sound like ass and be raspy being that wide open. Mine is 3" to dual 2.25" mufflers, and dual 2.25" is more then 3" when calculated, so that is all you really need.

Dude, I wanted Hurd's soooo bad. Trying to seriously stick with the M though and stay focused.

Yeah, I talked to a couple of people and apparently duder was having some financial problems and that kinda derailed him. I was able to advise him of some moves he shoudl make and now he said he's back on board now so we'll see. I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thanks for the advice, Aaron. My new exhaust setup will be based on what these cams do sound wise to what I have now. It will definitely start with ditching the HFPC's and get the SFR Headers. I was actually trying to use this as an example to understand how Lawrence choses the right complimentary parts. Like when he said something about porting the holes too big. How do you know exactly how big to port??
