I have a 05 SE-R automatic with y-pipe, 3inch exhaust from y-pipe to mufflers and a long-tube cold air intake. I found that when I punch the gas pedal its a slight delay before the car takes off. It's not that noticeable, but when you're racing others up and down the street I need that "get up and go"!!!
I'd like to improve the throttle response if that's possible.
What can I do?????

Uprev tune to get rid of the lag in response, also keeps the TB open 100% when you put our foot down, instead of slightly backing it off at higher RPMS. Other then that, just put your foot into it a little before the 3rd honk so you take off at the same time lol.
lol. I'll make sure I put my foot in it sooner than later then.
the uprev tune is pricey right now, especially with the holidays coming up. I eventually want the uprev tune though. I may just wait on replacing the fuel pump until I get the uprev since you say it will fix the problem without having to replace the fuel pump.
Ok on last week. I went to Nissan Dealer about advanced timing for my SE-R. I asked tech service, I want get advance timing, I need pay for charge. But he can't do that because ECU can control advance timing. In my mind BS! I wonder advanced timing isn't allow in California due emission? Thanks
Mike
Lol advanced timing and emissions is like comparing The exhaust tips to the ecu. Has nothing to do with it. And that is bs bc it takes five minutes at a dealership. I wouldn't even bother if I was you but if u insists go to another dealer and go up to a tech, not service managers, and give him 20 bucks And say advance me 2 degrees.

You can detailing me about not service manager I just curious.
I have no clue what that means, but I was saying Dont go in the dealership, walk over to where the tech guys are (mechanics) and say hey ill give you cash if you advance my timing for me. Service managers or service people inside that deal with the customers get paid off of commission mostly, so you trying to get this done through them is not valuable. They will make something up like it has to do with emissions lol.
Get a ralco LIGHTWEIGHT crank pulley and new belts and next time you are due for your belts to be changed, have them throw that on to. Then just dream that your Altima weighs as much as a lotus and you'll be set. Better yet rip out back seats and driver seat and anything else unneeded and u got some better response right there! Lol sorry just got headers in a good mood

On recent I called service department about it. They said that, There have no service on computer system. I told to them I've hard to gas pedal and slug then pull hard, I just want to smooth throttle response without slug. He asked me maybe your Nissan have something wrong like transmission have slip or need tune up. I told them, I have new ATF on my car on recent and it have NOTHING something wrong. I said ADVANCE IGNITION TIMING to them! but they not understand. But you're right, need call direct to tech not service department. So do you has experience about, "hard to gas pedal and slug then pull hard?". I have 06 Altima SE-R 53K Miles Auto-Tiptronic. New engine oil and ATF. NO CEL or SES. Full Stock Just remove air snorkel and installed k&n filter. That's it.
