No... the problem is the spacers that they have that the bolts go into.

Cool Heat Shield Rattle

Finally! Finally it has gone all the way to the corporate level. I've been complaining regarding this since I got the car. I've mentioned in different threads here about a noise from the bottom. Anyhow. I am yet to receive the letter. Someone in this forum also told me that he has his one replaced, but it was still lose, but now it seems like it will be taken care off.

I had this problem. They replaced everything including the manifold and blah blah blah. I'm not much of a mechanic so I THINK that's what I remember.

I don't seem to notice any rattle... either I don't have it... or I'm not paying attention... but I usually do take notice of things like that... I know there are other threads about it... but... is it a horrifically loud noise? cause I haven't heard anything all that loud... and I tend to let the car warm up a minute or two before I start driving... so I should probably hear it...

I have a new 2007 Altima 2.5S. I have owned it for about two months, I think I have this problem as well.

Does anyone know about an engine knocking problem with the 2007 2.5S? Is this a completely different problem?

This makes me a little sad! =(

At first, I had the rattle only when I was driving under 40 mph. It wasn't loud, but it was noticeable. Last week, I started letting my car warm up 1-2 minutes, instead of 3-5 minutes. When I put my car in reverse and backed out of the garage and stopped, that's when the rattle was louder.

I forgot to say the letter is dated Nov. 28, two days before I took my car in. So, my taking the car in had nothing to do with me getting the letter. I'm surprised because I never received the recall letters about the air filter/deflector and I-key.
