2007 Altima 2.5 S ABS (does it have it)

Just bought a used 2007 2.5 S with 800 miles with no extra options. Does it have Anti lock brake system? I thought it was standard equipment.

The manual talks about it saying (if so equipped)

There is no ABS warning light when you start the car.

Looked on the Nissan site and it's standard equipment on the 2008's.

Anyone know where to look on the car for this info? Or any codes on the door or VIN?

Thanks,
Corey

Yup, ABS was optional in the '07 production year. You can take the VIN to a dealer and ask them what was included in the car to make sure.

As someone said a while back

"Take it out, slam on the brakes full force from 70 mph, if it slides, you don't have ABS.

If it makes a ping noise and stops in half the distance it should, it has ABS."

It's my wifes car. I told her since we have snow right now, we could test it real easy, but she freaks out about everything. I doubt it has ABS.

Thanks for the comments.

It was a standalone option too. It wasn't included unless (I think) you got the SL package.

My local Dealer didn't even have a single Altima on the lot with ABS (except for the one hybrid). I was surprised at the fact that they would even think selling cars in Vermont without ABS, especially with the amount of days that we have snow on the roads. Needless to say, we picked up the SE elsewhere.

Same here... I ended up going SE because I couldn't find a 2.5S, Convenience Plus, ABS in Dark Slate/Precision Grey with charcoal interior.

Turn the car on without the engine running so that the whole dash lights up, if the ABS icon is lit then you have it, if not then you dont.

Nissan was a bit late making abs standard :o
I wouldn't ever get a car without abs, luckily mine has it.
