Should be same day if they can get it painted in the morning. I just had my se-r front bumper painted, and I dropped it off one morning and it was ready by the end of the day.

would like to thank birdturd for the nice chop

Dry enough to install is dry enough to wax, etc. Before you wash or wax it it should be at least 30 days under normal circumstances.

it depends if it will be baked or not and what type of clear is used and temperature. Most of the time you can mess with it later that day.

You can wash it, just do not wax it. And time period varies depending on paint and how it was cured.

175 degrees for a few hours is proper bake time. If you want this done right you have to ask to see their paintbooth. Also make sure they bake it AND make sure they use a DOWNDRAFT paintbooth. (its a booth that draws air and particles away from the piece being worked on). These booths are very expensive and only the best have them.

If it is baked for a few hours, then it should be ready to install that night, and ready to wash after 5 days. No waxing for a month tho...sorry! hah

Hope this helps!

Yeah but just because someone has the equipment doesn't mean they are the best painters. Nor does that mean someone without a downdraft booth is a aweful painter.

I've seen work sprayed in the back of a garage with a dampened floor, and tarps hanging come out better than someone in a nice clean booth with UV dryers.
