My '07 Altima 3.5SL that I've had for 2 years plays audio only on the left side of the car when I plug my iPhone into the aux port and play music from it. Both sides of speakers work during other functions and when I turn the balance all the way to the right during iPod/iPhone use, no sound is heard at all.
The cable is a stereo 3.5mm to 3.5mm cord and fully seats into both connections. The iPhone does play stereo when using normal headphones, so it shouldn't be the problem.
I have used this cord to play stereo sound for other appliances, so it shouldn't be the problem either.
Is this likely to be a car stereo problem? Any Thoughts?

yup, you don't have your plug pushed in all the way either on the car or ipod...had the same issue once.

Just love it !
Mods - All LEDs except turns and glove box, Redline Tuning hood struts, 6000k lows, 5000k fogs, Footwell lighting, 20% Solargard all around, Michelin Primacy MXV4 All-season (Stocks ran for 36k miles with 3/32" still left on them)
I wish the cord being in all the way was my problem. I've made sure 100s of times. For me, I have to physically turn the cable within the jack until sound comes through all speaks. If I it a bump or knock into the i-pod, it's out of place again. This is the primary reason I'm looking for a new stereo because it basically makes my ipod pointless, which is no bueno. I've tried three different cords and two ipods, so it's not that.
are you sure maybe its not in all the way on the ipod side? I have a hard case for mine that I had to remove some rubber off of the 3.5mm plug to make it plug into the ipod all the way. only other option i suggest is taking it to the dealer. its an 07 so unless your over your 36k it should be under warranty

Are you still under the 3yr/36K warranty? If so, just bring it in and let the service department worry about it.
