I've bent one of the chrome tail pipe surrounds and I've bought a new one. This issue is I have no idea what is holding this on. Any ideas?

Thanks for the info guys, after searching last night I found this info so hopefully it will warm up enough today to try to remove the old tail pipe cover.

Now the other info about BMW's is confusing. Is there another user named Rupp this message board?

Ok, I've got the old part off, but what is the new part # for this? Is this part known as a diffuser?

you took the only tip off before buying the new one? that must look weird. the diffuser, unless nissan has a different meaning for the word, is only on the coupe. that gray/black plastic part between the tips is known as the diffuser. on the sedans it just has an indent to suggest somethings there.

We bought the car used. The guy that had the car had bought the part and gave it to us. When I removed the tip today and compared the part he bought, it was way smaller than the pipe on our 3.5. I'm guessing he bought the part for the 2.5. That part number is 20080-JA00A. In my searching I've found I either need the 20080-JA10 or 20080-JA10A I believe.

I know this thread is old, but I've been searching for info on installing the new exhaust tips... Just bought an 08 altima and didn't have Any on it so I got two oem ones off eBay. Looks like u can bolt them with screws (not included), get em welded, or just shove em on and hope u don't lose em. Seems like lots of people have lost em before. Any idea the cost to weld? Or if screwed, what type of screws? Thanks in advance
