How to replace side mirror (just the glass)

My driver's side mirror glass wouldn't move up/down so I pushed it by hand and cracked it

I just order the mirror (just the glass) for about $20 at courtesy parts...

Now, anyone know how to replace just the glass? I'm worried that I will break something else when I take the mirror glass out.

According to the diagram, http://www.courtesyparts.com/images/l32/l32_963-1.gif it looks like it is either done with sticky tape or perhaps some clips. Unfortunately, the diagram isn't that detailed...

You may want to call your dealer to see if they can do it, and for how much, or ask them how it is assembled.

Good luck and keep us updated. Your experience may eventually help another member who may run into this problem some day.

So I replaced the mirror today.

It wasn't hard -- the mirror itself is held in place by 4 clips. Just gotta use a bit of force on the clips and yank it out. Putting on the new mirror is as simple as pushing it in.

The diagrams really helped. Appreciate it!

I'm bringing this thread back because I just had my glass broken on my 02 3.5 SE. do those white swivel joints on the back just press into their holes in the motor? Also that black swivel in the center is still attached to the mirror motor. There is a screw in the center. I'm not quite sure how to get a screwdriver in there to fasten it back down. Anyone with experience in this feel free to chime in. I can post pix tomorrow when it's light out. Appreciate it.
