I had satellite radio for a while. It's ok, but it's somewhat limited in that it cuts out going under bridges, in cities, and if you're driving in heavily wooded areas (common where I live and drive). I let it lapse and I'll admit I miss listening to Stern.
I have a pretty short commute, and I like to just use Pandora. I might only catch 2 quick commercials on my way to work...
XM is worth the $77/yr deal imho. Comes out to +/-$92 with taxes and royalty fees. Every year I have to do the same silly dance...I'll stay for $77/yr, no we can't do that, ok then cancel, ok we can offer you $95, no I want $77, we can't do that, ok then cancel, ok we can do $77 again but this is the last time! ha ha
Worst customer service on the planet by far.
Oh, some other things to know; NEVER give them your credit card info! You will lose your leverage and they'll just extend and charge you at fill price - then good luck trying to get a refund! Always pay the extra $2 for them to bill you. Also, mark your calendars so you remember to call them before your year is up. Call to cancel, then negotiate. DON'T just let your subscription expire and figure they will shut off the radio, they won't and you'll think you're getting it free. You're not - they will keep the meter running and bother you to pay as it goes up - and then they will turn it over to a very aggressive collection agency. Trust me.

I've had Sirius XM in my car and house for as long as I can remember (back when it was just XM). You're right, you totally have to haggle with them when it comes time to renew. I always threaten to cancel, they bounce me around to a few people, and then I finally get the best deal. And yes, NEVER give them your credit card. Have them mail you the bill and pay with a check.
At the end of the day, my family and I have become spoiled with satellite radio. I haven't listen to regular AM/FM radio in forever. I can't stand commercials.
If you want a more broader radio app that plays stuff from around the world, I suggest TuneIn Radio. I'm a big fan of electronic music and this app has TONS of stations ranging from personal mixes to live broadcasting. TuneIn > Pandora
just found out that in 2 hours I will be dressing up like justin effing bieber and lip syncing to one of his songs at a damn pep rally in front of the entire school.....fml

You should be able to play Pandora no problem through bluetooth. I can even open up my music on my iPhone and push play, which in turn will transfer over to my car if I have it on bluetooth music. It will even play audio from YouTube videos. I have no doubts that it will play Pandora for you. That's something I should try.
I bargained with Sirius over the phone because they were trying to overcharge me. I think I got them down to about 50 bucks for this last year. The best part about it is the sound quality. If you like stations like espn it really beats listening to that crummy AM radio station. I think it's worth it even at 100 bucks.

I've never tried hooking up NAV on my phone through bluetooth in my car so I can't give an accurate comment on that. Are you able to play Pandora through your bluetooth?
