Sluggish and slow

New 2012 Altima 2.5 with 2600 miles. When I first the car it wasnt fast by any means but accelerated at a moderate pace. I knew at certain speeds what the rpm was. Now all of a sudden when I press the gas pedal it doesnt accelerate the same and seem like it pushing, hard to go and just plain slow. No engine lights or anything. Could it be a bad tank of gas or any suggestions of what to look at?

I'd take it back to the dealership, get a loaner and let them deal with it.

It could be the CVT pulling into a high pulley ratio which bogs the engine down a bit. They are designed to do this to improve fuel economy. Shift into manual mode and try a lower pulley ratio or two (shift to a lower gear) and see if the engine pulls properly. Read this link for more info. If that is not the problem, take it to dealer.

you should've opted for the 3.5 with more power. The 2.5 was geared for fuel economy. I heard the cvt doesn't really have lag on the 3.5

I read that and the engine rpm did decrease but could accelerate at a steady pace. Now the car seem like the rpm's are higher than they used to be and the car is working harder to go. Maybe it is just me, you know how to get used to or how your car performs but even my wife notices a difference. Just dont know what to tell the dealer as there is no light or code we can see. Guess just take it in and see what they say.

What the 2.5 part? I wasn't the only one that noticed it. My wife also said if feels different and she doesnt drive it all the time. I didnt care about the 3.5 engine but mine feels wrong all of a sudden. I traded in my spec-v for a softer ride. Yes I miss it but hey what can you say. I also miss my Z28,IS300,S2000 and 350z vert.. Times and needs change. My 2.5S is fine for the moment and was just asking about the possible sudden change.

The 2.5 part was because I figured you were going from an IS300 to a 2.5 so of course it'll feel slow and sluggish. If it's THAT noticeable than take it to the dealer. But if no codes or SEL they probably won't do anything. I think you're just getting used to it

LOL ahh yeah username. Had that for a long time. My other I use is redls1 from when I had my z28 or lemans350zr or Specv2.5qr. I usually go by car but sick of changing names.

the car is now broken in and lost that new car feel and tightness. its normal with any car you buy new and now its time to upgrade the performance.
