OK, so I just went to this gas station by my job that has the cheapest regular gas in town. I chose regular at the pump but when the nozzle clicked signaling that my tank is full, I noticed that Ultra gas was just pumped instead of the regular. I’m worried b/c I remember the manual for my 09 Altima saying to only use regular gas. Can I cause damage to my car by not using regular?
You'll be fine. a higher octane gasoline shouldn't hurt the performance of your car. You may actually see an increase in the pep of the vehicle. The only thing that you could be at risk to is the engine knocking. If you're not familiar with it just google it.

the higher the octane the less the engine is gonna knock
Right.. but will it cause the engine to knock more if the OP switched back to regular? That's what I heard before... anyone?

nope he will be completely fine. if he goes under the minimum required octane he will have knock. his car is stock so he wont have to worry cause all he needs is 87. i need over 91 or i will have issues
The gas I pumped was Sunoco Ultra® 94 octane...Will this cause the engine to knock?
how much a gallon is that now? the highest grade here in vegas is only 91. in hawaii its 92. go figure. BUT RACE fuel 100 octane is available at certain REBEL gas stations

I use 93 octane in my 2.5 sometimes. It might just be me but it feels like the car is a lot faster. And the engine seems to run more smoothly. Went back to regular recently because premium in tampa is $4.35
ive always used the top grade gas in all the cars ive ever owned for that reason. car runs better and better performance IMO
but people in here will tell you differently and that you are wasting your money.
91+ octane is better gas than cheap 87 IMO. im running closer to 100 octane in my car now. i notice a DIFFERENCE in response, power and engine noise and smoothness. BUT my car IS tuned for 91+
