URGENT; 2008 altima with dead battery

apparently with a dead battery nothing works, not even the manual key will even work in the door locks.[they r electric]
so i cant access the battery under the hood
cant acess the manual in the glove box
cant acess the trunk to get into the cab to open hood

so i need to get into one of these areas

little help please

second problem is why did this happen in first place?
i was charging my phone in car then took phone and left. did i not turn accesories off or what? isnt there a timer that shuts things off?

The manual key should be able to open the driver side door. You did the took the actual metal key out of the key fob right? the key should be able to open the door, the glove box door, and unlock the rear seats (if they were locked) so you can fold down the seats and allow you to access the trunk..

As for the charger, my iPhone car charger stays plugged in the car 24/7 and never had an issue...

+1 the mechanical key should open the doors.

the mechanical key does not open the doors.
the key fob door and trunk and manual key all seem to make an electric sound as if the car is trying to open the various doors but doesnt have the voltage

Just to confirm, you are taking the key out of the key fob, and stuck it into the keyhole on the picture all the way to the right, correct?

Just went to my car and opened it with the key no problem.. didn't hear any electric noises.. not sure why it's not working on yours, hope you can figure it out quick..

If the key does not work, you have more than a dead battery.

OP thats why they have the key for the door in the fob. if the fob dies or your car battery dies you can get in the car still

the the cubby hole under the dashs 12v outlet shuts off with the car. and the one in the armrest stays on all the time. which one did you have your charger in?

Shouldn't the title of this thread be:

URGENT; 2008 altima with dead battery: I'm too lazy/busy/unable to read the owner's manual that explains the features of my Altima AND I do not know how to use the SEARCH feature of this forum.

Just saying...

^^ lol.

Right before I bought my Altima and was introduced to the iKey, my FIRST thoughts were, "How do I get into the car if (1), the battery in the fob is dead, and (2), How do I open the door if the car's battery dies?" The salesperson then showed me the conventional key in the fob.

and my second thought was "boy, it's going to be easy to lock this thing in the car". of course the salesman gave me that demo too.

Probably not the original keyfob and the actual mechanical key is for another Nissan. If that's the case, you need to call a locksmith.

Lucky you. The salesman tried to convince me that the little hole is to charge my keyfob

well when i bought the car it only had one key fob so i contacted the dealer and got them to program another key.
maybe im using the new key fob that is not keyed to the door?
i thot i was using the original one i was given but noway to check since the other one is 100 miles away.

and ya its the right car
yeah im using the mechanical key in the keyfob
yeah i must have more issues here than a dead battery

They probably programmed the fob but didn't cut the key for your car?
