Will the 3.5 headlights work the right way in my 2.5 altima sedan?
I have an 08 altima 2.5 4 door and was thinking about swapping the headlights out for the altima 3.5 of the same year. Would those headlights basically be a plug and play setup? Just wondering if anyone has done this. thanks
unless they have different bulbs in the 3.5, ie HIDs, it is plug n play cause its the same headlights. 07-09 sedans headlights are all the same and interchangeable. the 2010-2012 sedans lights are all the same and interchangeable. coupe headlights will not fit on any sedan and vice versa.
same thing with the tail lights between coupe and sedan...they're shaped differently

in 08 there was a 3.5 SL and SE in the US the 3.5 SL came standard with xenon bulbs and the SE it was optional . but anyway , it seems there would be different wiring than the standard bulbs

ah yeah i should have clarified that a little more haha. i meant the 3.5's with the HID's or xenon bulbs (not sure if there technically considered HID's or not) would those actually be a plug and play with the wiring on my 2.5 that has the stock normal headlights or does the 3.5 have some sort of ballast/converter in the wiring and what not. lol. i figured the actually headlight housings would fit lol. just rather not buy HID's for my 2.5 if I don't have to. i've had cops give me hassle over them before in other cars and i've had wiring problems in other cars also with them. that's why i was thinking of swapping in 3.5 headlights with the HID's in them already.
It's almost completely plug and play. If you get the whole assembly with the ballasts (the ballasts are mounted to the headlight housing on the outside), you just need to supply the power and ground just like you would do with any setup. The connectors you see with orange is what would be needed to plug into the ballast (2nd picture). You could cut the ends off and splice them to your car if the other end doesn't fit.
