I hate the hard seats in my 07, is there anything I can do about that?
I need some advice.
I drive at least 120 miles a day.
Because the Altima is a Sports sedan, the seats are hard, even though they are leather and heated.
My friend has an only 2000 Infiniti I30 or I35, the one that resembles a Maxima. His seats are so nice and soft, that you could literally fall asleep in them, whether you are driving or riding in the passenger seat.
How can I get that level of comfort into my car?
I wish someone would make a good "Luxury" 4-cylinder car, that gets good gas mileage. But of course, there is some hidden rule, out there somewhere, that says that if you have a luxury car, you have to fuel it with premium gas, and it has to guzzle gas.
So for now, if anyone has any advice on aftermarket leather seating enhancements or replacements, I would definitely be happy to hear them.
I am tired of sitting on my seats, and not sinking into them....
Dude, if you wanted a Lazy boy, I have a 1983 Cadillac right here in my driveway.

It's 7 years old. It's worn in. I'm having the same issue with the new leather couch in my living room. It's nowhere as comfy as the one on the floor at the furniture store.
What about finding an old seat at the junk yard? Any idea if it'll fit/match your interior? I'm not trying to be facetious.

When you bought the car and I assume that you test drove a car equipped the same way of the one you were going to buy?
Did you not notice if the seats were too your liking?
Complaining now about the seats after you have bought the car seems some what mute! Do you not agree.
I've got to agree with HOBGOBLIN - if you "really hated the seats" when you test drove the car, why did you buy it?
I really like the seats in the Altima - on a recent 1,400 km trip I appreciated the firm supportiveness. Soft and squishy butt-pillows may feel all comfy-cozy in the short term, but for me, will lead to back pain on a long trip.

Of course, since you regard seats you could fall asleep in while driving as a positive, we are clearly coming at this from very different starting points.
I don't know of any aftermarket fixes apart from some sort of seat-cushion.
Money outlay=reupholstery with more padding. About your only answer. My 06 has hard seats too, but I agree with Jaeger. Much better on the back on long runs.

An ancient proverb states, "there is an _ss for every seat". I suggest checking out the high-quality and cushy wool slip-on seat covers from Sam's. Have them in my Vette. Great in summer cause your shorts-laden legs don't get all sweaty. Great in the winter, heated seats or not. Makes your seats very comfy. Available in buff and dark grey, I think.
Try watching 3 hrs of Pirates of the Caribbean in the seats at the dollar theater - believe me, the seats in the Altima were like a freaking luxury lazyboy after that!!

I hear you. I just picked up my 08 Nissan. This is my 3rd Nissan Lease. I loved my 02 and 05 but each lease is for only 3 years. Well, I didn't bother test driving an 08 because I would have never thought that Nissan would ever compromise the comfort of the seats. I drove the hour trip home very excited about my new car but as the trip progressed I found myself unable to get comfortable and kept adjusting the power seat.
Two days after having the car, I took a 2 hour road trip to visit my mother. By the time I got there, my tail bone was sore and I couldn't shake the thought as to how uncomfortable the seats were compared to the previous models I had, had.
I took my mom for a ride and right when she sat in the passenger seat, she exclaimed " The seats are kind of hard aren't they?" She always loved the comfort level of my previous Nissans. I always thought that the Nissan was as comfortable as a Cadillac that I used to own. This one reminds me of the hard stiff seats of a Saturn that I owned.
Well, on my way home the next day, I kept experimenting with the seat but could not get comfortable. To be blunt . . . I really can say that I hate it and am concerned how I will endure this car for the next 3 years.
I phoned the dealer and he put me in touch with customer service who put me in touch with customer complaints. I intend to write a letter but know that there is little that can be done. At best maybe I can find someone who would buy the car outright. I'm very disappointed to say the least. This will be the absolute last one unless they go back to the nice cushy seats from before.
I just can't imagine that Nissan would have ever cheapened the seats. I had driven my 2005 from Michigan to Massachusets and when I arrived there I played a game of tennis in the evening. That's a 17 hour drive. Two hours on this one is terrible. The thought of its uncomfortability never leave you.
I love how the car handles and everything else but don't feel that I should have to try to find some kind of cushion to make it comfortabe. I'm a web designer and maybe I'll make a website about this to alert people to be sure to really check out the seats.
