I was finally able to get over 600 miles to 1 tank of gas - 634 miles to be exact. I filled up by topping off the tank with 18.783 gallons so my miles per gallon averaged out to 33.8 which I feel is very respectable. I keep seeing claims of 40+ mpg by some people but I just have a hard time believing it. If people are in fact able to get over 40 mpg then 700+ miles out of a single tank of gas should be possible BEFORE the car says you need to fill up. Just wondering how many other people have been able to squeeze out over 600 miles in 1 tank of gas.

I've hit over 600 miles a few times.
I have proof (pictures) of running 300 miles at 55 MPH and getting a computer reading of 43 MPG. When I filled up the tank again at 300 miles I got a calculated 40 MPG for that trip. That's 800 miles possible per tank on level ground at 55 MPH!
One of these days I'll find the pictures which were taken at 100 mile intervals throughout that trip and post them on my web site.
That 55 MPH was really driving me crazy though, even the big-rigs were zipping past me.
Congrats on the 600 club, I should be there in no time.
I know what you are talking about Doug, but I think it is worth it. Its soooo hard not to romp on the gas when they are passing you though. My next tank should be at least 35 MPG. I got some drafting in and most of it was driven at 55-60 MPH. But I'm going somewhere for the summer and I don't think I will empty this tank before I leave. I'm sure that when my parents drive the car when I'm not home they will mess the FE up a little bit and I won't get to learn if my patience was worth it. Oh well, shit happens.
Don't think that it is possible to get 45 mpg by just going 55 mph though. I mean maybe with some drafting and 100% highway driving set at 55 mph but that is still a stretch. Are you guys just going my the computer?
EDIT: sorry I thought kevin was trying to say that he got 44 mpg, now i realized taht he meant 4 hundred 40 something a tank full.

I'm a skeptic when it comes to any product designed to improve MPG. Last year I purchased a product called Dr. Fuel Max for several hundred dollars and in the end it really didn't make much difference. Also once it's been submerged in gasoline, you couldn't get any kind of refund on it. The company has since ended its US distribution. i believe best way to save gas is to drive good, add provable good intake, upgrade exhaust systems, maintain good air+alignment+balancing on tires, use cruise control when possible, add tints to car. thats it. i dont believe in any of that crap u find online, auto parts, blah blah

On that last tank I would have to guess that it was 85% highway 15% city/rual. The big kicker was that I went over 2 mountain passes: Rainy Pass, elevation 4, 860 feet, then over Washington Pass, elevation 5, 437 feet. I take what the car states as your average MPG with a grain of salt. It is not that accurate so I that is why I made this post. What I am really looking for is someone to come on here and state that they were able to get 700+ miles on a single tank of gas. I would be amazed!!! How many brand new cars out there could get 600+ miles without stopping for gas?
because if the inside is cooler than the outside, then the outside to inside ratio will in effect make the car lighter in turn....I dont know I was actually wondering that myself. Also, adding exhaust, intake, etc can and does actually take away mpg...you add an air intake you feed it more air, in turn needing more fuel, you open up the exhaust, it wants more fuel...all those mods just take away from fuel efficiency....On another note though, if you want fuel efficiency, fine buy a hybrid but if you want to mod, take fuel efficiency out fo the equation and stop bi%^*#(%.
edit: that isnt directed at the quoted member, its directed at the people who complain about mpg on a modded car..as far as the OP goes, I have been able to get 450 miles from my tank with 90% city and 10% if that, highway so I can see 600. Maybe some day ill really grandma it up and see what I can do. Until then, my new 350Z wheels and tires are getting a work out, especially with those falken Ziex's...damn i love the handling and cant keep off the gas. But next tank Ill see what I can get.

ummm exactly what the previous members have said. everyone knows that with tinting u get less heat inside the car therefore you ac works less...less work means less drag on engine...why dont u rip off ur tints and see how hot it will get inside ur car and how much more time it will take to cool the inside of ur car...i guess u didnt know this
its basically an additive that goes in the oil and the gas tank that are "supercharged gas molecules." plus, its biodegradable. honestly i was skeptical as well but after 150 on the tank i have noticed that the gauge is no where near as low as it was when i didnt have it in. 8/10 for ethos
I got 600 miles ONCE. It was almost all interstate highway driving, most of it at 75 or so. The warning light came on well before I stopped for gas. Filled up with 18.7 gallons, for about 32mpg. If I had been using a fuel additive, I think I would have gotten about 32 mpg. I had the stock intake and I think with an aftermarket intake, I would have gotten about 32 mpg. (there is NO reason that an intake will improve mileage) Since the "miles/range" function uses about 17 gallons in the calcs, NOT 20, it was showing empty somewhere around 540 miles.
