sound comes from both sides?...
i would suggest one day just pop ur wheel off n take a look at the rotors/pads and surrounding area to make sure nothing is interfering with the brakes... no cuts/scrapes in the rotors... if u cant see any out of place... u should still be covered under warranty... drop it off at ur local dealership n have dem take a look at it

Me Too

I have that same popping sound too on my 08 sedan. Its annoying. It sounds like metal expanding and contracting, but it does it too often.

I wrote this up before and someone said that it might be the ABS self test. Im a tech and I cant imagine the ABS testing that often.

Ive been too lazy to take it to the dealer, but Its about time I did.

there is a recall for this if it is below 15mph...check with your dealer if your VIN is on the recall.

I had mine squealing around 3K miles. I checked with the dealer and they said it was fine. Then I checked with an outside specialist when I got my rims on around 4K mi, and He said it was fine. Then the squeling just disappears gradually as you add more mileage.

As for the poping sound, I get it only when backing up esp. if I'm making a turn.

The squealing never went away for me, my dad bought the car and it was his for a year and they started squealing at about 2000 miles and he said itw as normal, now he gave the car to me and it has a little over 26,000 miles on it and they're still squealing like hell.

Don't bet on it. If the dealer sees that the brakes are fine they'll give you some lame ass excuses like the weather is cold or the squeling should go away when the brakes are operating at an adequate temperature. Try braking a little bit harder about three or four times to see if the condition subsides.

You can call with your vin number or something to see if it was recalled. Otherwise call them and say you heard about the recall and your brakes are squeaking and set up an appointment
