07 hybrid stereo install question

Ok I truly apologize I'd this has been asked and answered. I've looked around and I've found great diagrams on how to replace the rear deck speakers on an altima. Great detailed instructions on how to remove the back panel etc when you put your seat down.

How would one go about replacing the rear speakers if he had a hybrid and the seats didn't do down? That plus I'm trying to figure out where to install an amp since the hybrid battery takes up a good portion of the trunk. There is no back of the seat option since once again that's where the battery is. Any ideas? Or if this has been discussed could you kindly point a newbie in the right direction?

Thanks everyone. This site is great and very helpful.

cant you mount the amp on to the back of the subwoofer box? it shouldnt cause much if any vibration as long as you have a good enclosure. as for the speakers, cant you remove the back seat temporarily for the speaker install? My TL didnt have folding rear seats and i know my installer had to get back there at some point to unhook my stock subwoofer.

I wasn't planning on having a sub in the back, i'm just trying to change out the 6X9's. The trunk is small enough already without adding a sub.

I can pull the trunk liner out and see the bottom of the speakers, but need to figure out how to get under the grill on top to unscrew them. All of the comments in this forum always mention getting to this by getting behind the seat.

The rear deck cover on the should be the same as the regular Altima sedan. The grills are part of that cover and are not independently removable. There's plenty of threads on here describing how to remove the rear deck cover if you search for them. I am not being a smart-ass with the search comment, I have never removed my rear deck so I can't give you a detailed how-to.

Access that area from the trunk by removing the trunk liner that separates the the smaller trunk we have from the hybrid battery compartment. I have pulled the top of that panel off before to take a peek in but have not had any reason to remove the whole panel yet, but based on what i saw, its standard panel push-pin fasteners that can easily snapped out with a Panel Puller tool. that should give you easy access to not only the hybrid area but also the speakers mounted to the rear deck.

Everyone has said re: regular non-hybrid altimas that you have to tilt the seats down and remove bolts from behind the seat to remove the back panel. Since I can't move the seats I'm just trying to figure out if the panel in the hybrid comes off without removing these bolts (if they're even in the hybrid). Or....is there a way to remove the back of the seats?

Ok...so now I've popped the back panel up...but the seats are keeping it from coming forward. Wow....this sure is interesting. Apparently i feel the need to give you guys a play by play too. Def. a lot more work than I thought it would be just to get to the 6X9's.

Here's one link to an install in an '08 Hybrid, doesn't show the rear seat removal but gives some ideas on where an amp could be mounted.

I sucked it up and ordered a Hybrid service manual from ebay...one of the .pdf downloads. So now I should be able to figure out some of this a little easier.

Thanks for all of your help. I appreciate the custom install pics of the amp....now i need to probably build something along those lines. ahh the fun of customization.
