Looking for suggestions. I don't want to spend exorbitant amounts of money for the OEM HIDs for my 2.5S so I would like to see what you guys thought were the most OEM looking HIDs?
I'm looking for some that are not blinding to the oncoming traffic and a color similar to the BMW, Acura, Lexus, Cadillac HIDs.
What are your recommendations for kits that will give me what I want?
I apologise in advance for this topic as I know there are tons of HID threads, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for with the search and I know there are a lot of OEM upgraders on the forum who may have their valuable opinion to share.
Thanks.

oem hid lights. any kit you put in halogen housing will be more blinding to oncoming traffic then oem kit. color wise, 5k will look like those that you listed.

+1 only way to get an OEM hid look without blinding/glare is to put them into an HID housing.
Why do you care ur sittin behind them, they arent blinding you lol...
nah, but you could be blinding that oncoming truck on a dark 2 lane road traveling at 60 mph...and he looks like he might want to combine forces with the front end of your Altima.
I have the DDM slim 6K HID's they are great and I have had absolutely no problems so far, and I love the tinge of blue color on the road I would highly recommend them. Also just a pointer- do yourself a favor and install a relay harness w/ your kit so you don't f*ck up your stock wiring- it’s cheap insurance and you can also buy it from the DDM website. Good luck : D
DDMtuning just dropped their prices on their DDM slim ballast kits to 49.99, I just bought a set. i would go with the 5k color to match best as OEMs, just be sure to aim them down a little. There is alot of glare in the housings.
Here's a link to a PDF I used, then i aimed them down 2 inches from the line...LINK
I drove behind my friend a few times, he hates HIDS, but said they don't glare or are too bright in his rearview or head-on. the car isn't lowered either, in case you want to know.
HAHA, I was writing the post and got distracted...Check the mods thread for a thread on ballast placement.

I think the altima has a really good hallogen housing. A decent cutoff for a reflective housing. That means that HIDs in the same housing shouldn't be THAT bad.

lol "so far" Lots of people have issues with these cheap kits. Do yourself a favor and dont listen to this guy. Buy something that has a quality name and dont waste money on a relay harness you do not need. The stock wiring will not suffer any ill effect from installing an HID kit the PROPER way.
Just a question. Why are you installing a relay harness? There no need for it and if your worried about damaging your stock wiring then you obviously donot no anything about HIDs. Dont give ddmtuning abad name becuase of your incompetance.
i was just on ddm and it was still the regular price...just picked up another 55w kit and relay for $75. thats better than ebay plus a lifetime warranty. theres no reason to bash ddm. if their product fails its replaced. seems fair to me.

tru ^^. ive had experience with Xentec before. They do last quite a while but the problem I had with them is that the HID harness did not fit perfectly into the stock harness. Modifications were needed but it still worked well. One of my ballasts went bad after a year so now Im giving ddmtuning a shot. So far so good. 5000k is definatly the way to go though.
