My CVT Alti averages 25mpg. Best I've ever done was 29mpg and I had to drive so careful to achieve it that that I was gonna go mad if I continued.

Definitely not impressed with the fuel economy of my Alti (Had a Volvo S40 previously that did same or slightly better and I flogged the crap out of that car).

Oh well. At least my coupe is gorgeous

Thumbs up

I don't have the Coupe but at last check my Sedan is averaging 29.6 mpg and I got 750 miles on a full take driving cross country with cruise control and an STP gas treatment .... But on average I can't see getting 750 mpg every full tank...

That's not possible. A 20 gallon tank would get you only 600 miles assuming you averaged 30mpg and used every last drop of fuel.

Realistically, you'd only put 18-19 gallons in it when you fill, so that's a usable range of 540-570 miles per tank @ 30mpg.

You would have to use all 20 gallons and average over 37mpg to go 750 miles on a tank.

You would have to consume 25 gallons to go 750 miles, averaging 30mpg.

The Altima has only a 20 gallon tank -- and it's unlikely you ran it bone-dry, anyway... So there's a 18-19 gallon "practical" capacity.

You would need to average 39.5 mpg to go 750 miles on the 19 gallon usable range. I won't say it's impossible... But it's not likely.

It is considerably more likely that you filled up the tank without resetting the trip computer. Happens to all of us, from time to time.

Ok my bad the pics says 637 miles with 28 to go but you know as well as I do that you can go many more miles when it flashes -- so even 700 miles is realistic................all cruise control, all highway, I always run the A/C, and this was a 1 time occurrence while driving 1200 miles to Ohio from Texas...I made it in 2 tanks with some to spare.....

That is more believable. You'd have to average 34mpg to do it, but I'm sure that's possible if you're very easy on the throttle on on a long flat (or downhill) road for many hours.

I get 27 to 28 MPG on average. During the week most of my driving to work is on the interstate. I go to work early in the morning before traffic gets bad, and I set the cruise at 65 MPH. Coming home I go 70 to 75. I leave work before the rush, so I avoid most stop and go traffic.
