Whats everybody getting for gas mileage on the 2.5?

I seem to get 26 in town. But the car only has 500 miles on it. Do I need more time to break it in?

I'm getting around 33(more during summer less in winter because of winter gas). 90% of my driving is rural highway. My coupe is a 2008 model with 56000 on it. The mileage seems to go up a little as the miles accumulate.

I am seeing about 22mpg accurately. The computer in the car always lies to me and says 25.

I've been mostly highway driving since I picked up my Altima 3 weeks ago. I'm averaging 28-29 highway (70mph), and probably 25 in town. The city rating is based on the computer, while the 28-29 was calculated by miles/fill up.

I average 27 to 30, mostly highway miles. Drive the Blue Rt. in Pa about 20 miles 65 mph and avg. 31 mpg on that run.

My wife and I recently rented a '12 Altima 2.5 for an 1100 mile round trip from Memphis, TN to Asheville, NC. Memphis is pretty flat grade but by the time you hit Asheville, you've climbed a good bit with lots of steep hill grades, ascending and descending.

Running an average of about 75mph with the air, 2 people and some luggage, the rental averaged about 31-32mpg including around town driving.

We got right at 500 miles to a tank just as the low fuel light warning came on.

I imagine on flat ground and under 75mph, you could get solid mid 30's hwy.

Which about ties my '93 Altima with 297,000 miles but not bad for a car that's a good bit heavier than my '93...

Jeremy

On average about 24 - 27 mpg
but i drive 80mph most of the time on the 405 freeway
I also tried going at a constant speed of 65 - 70 mph, and I got away with 32 mpg.
So drive efficiently !

There is a guy on here who claimed he was getting like 750 miles a tank. He would shut the vehicle off at every red light, use zero A/C, never go above 2k rpm etc. That would make the car way to boring to drive having to worry about all that.
