Tire pressure monitoring system fix

I just recenetly up sized my rims and tires on my 2007 altima s to P235/50/R17 and now the low tire pressure idiot light flashes for 1 minute then remains on all the time. I have 32PSI tire pressure as recommended by the tire label and Toyo says 32 is perfect for the Proxes 4's. How do you correct the condition? Anyone know?

actually, you have to have the consultII and a transmitter activation tool(J 49295) is used in wake up and will aid registration

Observe above post to find out your problem.

Once you ground the connector, keep it connected to ground. The TPMS will come on solid after five seconds and stay lit for 5 seconds, then it will go off for 5 seconds. THEN, it will start flashing out the error codes to you. The first digit is represented by the slow flashes, the second digit by the fast flashes. It will just keep repeating all the error codes as long as you keep the check connector grounded. Did you have your wheels replaced also, or just the tires?? If it was tires only, then you shouldn't be having this problem unless the shop goofed up one of your sensors.

Did you transfer the factory TPMS sensors from the factory rims to the new rims? Or even have TPMS sensors installed on the new rims? If not, there lies the initial problem with the TPMS light coming on.

stupid TPMS's , because most people can't simply check there tire pressure regularly , the government required them to be standard

p.s. like OVRBDGT said , were the sensor's reinstalled ?

Someone on one of the forums stated that if a car came with tpms, you have to purchase the sensors with the new wheels, by law.

I don't know if that's true or not.

I purchased them with my RE30s and was anticipating having to take it to the dealership to be calibrated. After the swap, the light never came on. So my tpms is borked or somehow they came calibrated from tirerack.

all new cars (2007-up) have tpms and are required to have tpms . you can drive your car without installing new tpms , but then the light will be on the dash . if you don't have tpms the cops aren't going to come to your house and kick in the door but you could/would fail your inspection .

p.s. i hate tpms !!! i check my pressure regularly , but because most people don't the government mandates it

tpms only sends a signal about every 20 minutes , you could have tire failure and still not know it !!!

The BCM checks all TPMS sensors once per minute at speed, but only once ever 60 minutes when the vehicle is stopped.
