Noise from sunroof area

I got my brand new 2008 coupe 3 weeks ago. Since about a week ago I've been hearing soft rattling noise from above passanger's seat near the sunroof area. It's very annoying. To make the noise go away I have to open the roof and press the front edge downward.

Does anybody have any idea what's wrong with my car? Would somebody please help?? Do you think dealership can fix this? Thanks!

Thank you so much for your post... no my coupe doesn't have visor... my dealership told me it's vibration and asked me to wait until it gets really bad before I come to them (strange!)... he also said the same thing happened to a Nissan Armada a couple of months ago, it was so bad the owner ended up returning the car for a full refund... he said lemon law applies after a car has been fixed three times unsuccessfully...

Any thoughts?

check the headliner and also with the sunroof open, check to make sure all the nuts and bolts and moving pieces in the opening are tight and vibrating

Ah yes sounds familar. Check the mount where the glass is attached to the track. Open the moonroof like 3/4 and try to see if you can move it with your hand up and down. I had this problem like 2 weeks after I bought my car. They fixed it in a half-hour.

Whew... music to my ear! Thank you so much for the advice... I highly appreciate it... I thought this was a chronic illness but I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel now... I will print your post and show it to the service advisor...

Again, THANKS!!!!!!

PS: it doesn't rattle when I push the rail downward

Simple? well, au contraire...

i took my coupe to the dealership... having examined my car for about 4 hours they decided my car has to be "hospitalized" for 2 days... the service advisor said the sunroof needs to be disassembled... doors dismantled... foam replaced... rails fixed... etc. etc.

Thankfully this is covered by Nissan warranty... hopefully they'll find the rootcause and fix the problems...
