What do you *hate* about your A/C

Hey all. I currently own a 2002 Subaru WRX, and I'm in the market for a new car.

It's not that I hate my current car, but it's at 70k miles, 6 years old, and is beginning to show it's age. On top of that, some of the "creature comforts" that I've seen in the A/C just knocked my socks off.

Now, when I test drove my WRX, I loved it. However as it aged, I found some things that just began to tick me off:
  1. Cupholders SUCK
  2. Difficult to change spark plugs
  3. 91 octane minimum requirement
  4. AC evaporator valve replacement required near entire dash removal

So, some are comfort/convenience, but most are short/med/long-term maintenance issues. Obviously, I didn't really know what I was getting into, but I'd like to do a bit more research before I bought a new car.

So, that being said, what do you guys *hate* about your Altima Coupes?

I'll get you started here:
  1. Interior AC filter replacement requires glove box removal
  2. Small trunk space (?)

Thanks guys

I love the coupe, just hate the blind spots caused by the side mirrors.

When pulling into my garage, more often than not, I'll be listening to some music or a comedy routine on the XM radio that I'd like to hear the end of. So in order to do that I have to:

1. Turn off the engine.
2. Press the button, with foot off the brake to get to ACC.

And when done....

1. Press the button again, with foot off the brake to go to IGN
2. Press the button again, with foot off the brake to turn off IGN.

Jeez.

I don't think ACC should be on the Start Button, just because that's the way the old key system was. Plus, there's no reason to have to go through ACC every time you start the car. I'd like to see a separate timed switch for ACC, which would automatically turn off in 30 min.

to turn the car off and have it left on the acc hit it twice fast as if you where double clicking your mouse. it works. the only thing i dont like about the a/c is the handling at high speeds, but hopefully some after market parts will do the trick.

Passenger seat vibrates even when tilted to ride dirty angle...other than that, nothing! My coupe is great.

my first post . bought my coupe thursday and it has been wonderful. i cant say i hate anything but there is one thing i would not mind changing and that would be the steering wheel looseness. i drove a 2003 jetta prior to my nissan and the steering wheel of the altima feels a bit loose when turning and just driving in general. other than that i absolutely love the car.

I love this car, I've missed driving a stick in my GrandAm. The only thing is that they recomend 91 for gas. And it could use about 1 inch more of head room. other then thatI love this car!

You guys say you "hate" these things, yet you bought the car anyways. Obviously they weren't enough of a factor to make you get something else.

The auxilliary in line sounds like crap a lot of the time, I don't care for the way the seat slightly leans back a bit on hard accelleration, and forward slightly when breaking. There are a number of threads here about the seat issue, supposedly Nissan is working on a fix for that. Eventually I plan on replacing the stock head unit.

5,700 miles 2.5L 6-speed previous Integra GS-R

Cruise power must be turned on each time the car is turned on. I hate this!!!!

Mileage is not up to Monroney sticker. Normally I get nearer the highway and I am getting the city mpg.

Auto temp control a pain to turn off. Yes I know adjust the fan, but then you have to hit A/C off. Why not just one step.

XM volume much lower than AM/FM so there is constant volume adjustment. Radio info display is fairly primitive also.

Reverse inter-lock does not "turn off" so after I back out of the space and shift in to 1st it still thinks I am reverse. Maybe I am just a 5-speed guy and hate the 6th gear.

The Altima badging. Non-coupes are boring looking and highly discounted. I had to remove the words altima as I don't want my car to be confused with the sedan.

Despite the claims it is possible to lock your keys in the car.

Overall I am happy with the coupe. It is not as much fun as the integra, but much more refined and comfortable.

#1 is not true whatsoever...The in-cabin filter can be changed without removing the glove box...I've done it twice...It's easier to do with the glove box out though, but it's not necessary...

In the garage I leave the key in the seat pocket on the front of the seats. Note: Please don't come over and take my car.

With the key in place my wife while outside the car must have hit the button on the other remote and despite the fact that there is a key in the car the doors locked.

I did not test this again to verify exactly the sequence of events.
