Cold engine Loud till operating temp

Have any of you guys with the 2.5 notice when its under 50 degrees outside my engine is pretty loud till it actually warms up. Im not sure if its just my car or if any of you guys have noticed this. I know the 2.5 is a loud engine under acceleration. I'm talking about louder than usual during its warm up period. I live in Illinois and its only going to get colder. I didnt have this issue this summer at all, it only started when the temp dropped below 50.

Yeah i've noticed it too. Its been in the 50s in the mornings down here and its been way louder. My car is also louder because of my intake.

cold engine a bit loud

Yes I agree, just bought a 2.5 coupe and live in the northeast. But it quiets quickly when the engine warms up.

Mine was pretty loud in the winter as well. I've noticed it happens to pretty much any car. The 2.5 is a little louder than most engines, but it's one of the biggest 4-cyl's out there keep in mind.

if you look st your rpms they start a 2000 when its cold if you sit for a minute they go down to 1200 then its better to drive. Every car does this, you have to take your time in the winter sometimes, it makes it easier on ur engine
